                                              Sulfuric Acid

This story happened when I was in 12th slandered. I joined in a new school for 11th as there were no higher secondary courses in my old school.

One of the biggest problem I faced in my new school was Saturday classes.I had to attend classes on Saturday, how can I go for classes when all my friends are playing football???

I couldn’t cope with that..I bunked class and eloped to play with my friends. one year passed without any problem. I missed a lot of classes especially labs. I wasn’t at all aware of the consequences.

At last the day of final chemistry lab exam came… I had attended only 2 practical classes before.. But I was confident.. I thought what I have to do is just putting some chemicals together..

First question was an experiment with sulfuric acid .I took sulfuric acid in a test tube

Uhhhh,, my hands started shivering.....

I looked around...none of my friends had this problem.but my hand was shivering like hell.

I did a self-talk to deal with my problem.

“Ohh unni ….be brave.. may be its the first time you are dealing with sulfuric acid..but its not gonna kill u….. “

I decided to hold the test tube strongly for 2 minutes..then I just turned my hand to check the time on my watch..

Did something fall from my test tube?

AhhhhhHHHHHHHH !!!!!!!!

I heard a screaming from behind…when I looked back I saw one of my friend standing without wearing a shirt.. Sulfuric acid fell down to his shirt and totally burned.. His shirt turned to a piece of fabric that hanging on his neck with some buttons on it.. uhhhh!!!!!

He was shivering and crying……Dimmmmm!!!!!! then he fainted down..!!!!!!!!

All rushed towards him….then all eyes turned to me….

you are so careless!!!!!! My chemistry teacher shouted at me

Chief examiner and my teacher took my friend outside to get medical help.After few seconds all my friends went back to their work.They didn't have time to think about it.That was final exam.

I was totally lost.. Because of my stupidity a poor guy is going to lose his exam. Putting my head down... I sat on my chair… I closed my eyes…

“what is this man get up… “ It was my friends 

one of my friend jomy checked my question paper and did some tests with the chemicals which were provided to me. He gave me a pen and paper and asked me to write.

I said…. “nooo jom..nooo I can’t.. I can’t… “

he wasn’t ready to leave me....Like a machine I wrote what he said, then I left the exam hall.

I asked teachers about our acid victim… they said hes ok .It was only his shirt that got burned and he has no injury… They assured me that he would get some extra hours to complete his exam.

When the result came…I scored 42 out of 50 for chemistry practical exam.
