Silhouettes

Captured in Geneva, the backdrop here looks almost like it's make-believe. The never ending trees tickle your imagination as the bright patches of stars demand your attention. The dark contrast of trees adds even more intensity to the stunning stars. Entitled "Silhouettes", this stunning shot was captured by Harry Finder.

 Diving Under the Stars

This wonderful double landscape was captured in Russia's Blue Lake by photographer Viktor Lyagushkin. This is a fine example of the duality with which we live, but seldom appreciate in its entirety. Notice the sea floor which provides a sense of grounding by bringing the various elements of the image together.

 Engage

Captured in South Wales, this is one of the stunning photos that unlock the mysteries of the United Kingdom. Using a zoom effect, this is the sort of photo that is rarely captured so effectively! The stunning colors come from the Milky Way and the sunset over a series of time lapses; but who cares about technique when there's something so beautiful to look at! This is one of the gems of Lincoln Harrison's impressive portfolio.

Dubai Galactica

Another fantasy shot, this work combines two shots. The cityscape is the increasingly famous skyscraper angle from Dubai at the Index Tower. The stunning shot of the starrysky is from Reunion Island. This is a shot that could have been captured in this location alone, but the stars would've aligned differently and would not give way to the notable details of the Milky Way we've all come to love. This photo was captured by the talented Daniel Cheong.

Our Place in the Cosmos

True photographers go to great lengths to get a beautiful shot. Even if that means heading to the middle of the desert at night. Surprisingly, this shot was captured in Oregon, not somewhere in the Southwest, and we all know how beautiful the skies are in the Pacific Northwest! Titled "Our Place in the Cosmos", this is a capture by Alex Noriega.

The Universe

Looking at this photo, it's hard to believe that a place so beautiful could be real. That may be because the photographer took some creative liberties here and stitched together two photos. It is a dream shot that could never actually exist. It's a fusion of the city and mountains of Cappadocia and Thailand, respectively. This incredible hybrid comes from the brilliant mind of photographer Anuparb Papapan.

Milky Way Church

This stunning photo was one of the many shots during a time-lapse project. The photographer, Aaron J. Groen, is known for his stunning works with nighttime photography. Entitled "Milky Way Church", he captured this image at an old fashioned church located in South Dakota.

Cathedral Sky

One of the first photos captured by photographer Johannes Burkhard, this stunning night sky speaks for itself. The clusters of stars are so bright they seem to change the sky'snatural colors. Captured at the Cathedral Lakes in the high Sierra of Yosemite, this is a stunning and realistic shot of a perfect night to camp!
