Have you ever gotten a message like this?
Hello Dear,
How is everything with you,I picked interest on you after going through your short profile and deemed it necessary to write you immediately.I have something very vital to disclose to you,but I found it difficult to express myself here, since it's a public site.Could you please get back to me on ( here the spammer lists some email address or website) for the full details.
Have a nice day.
thanks
fake name= SPAMMER.
It is more likely if you are a brand new member and don't know what to expect.
*****HOW TO SPOT A SPAMMER*****
They are very friendly and just saw your profile,
but say they must write you immediately.
They are usually new and have few or no friends.
They have something very VITAL, IMPORTANT, OR CONFIDENTIAL that they must tell you.
They can't tell you here on this public site (it must be in private).
They request that you contact them for the complete details.
They give you an email or website where you can reach them.
They infect your computer or try to take money from you by pretending to be a friend :-(
They may tell you a very sad story where they need your help.
They offer to show you a photo of themselves.
They need you to send them a little money.
These are never true !!

Thank You very much Mr Bob for this blog.. You've mentioned all the alternatives that could be used by those people.. It's really helpful and interesting to read
Thank you, Mr. Bob... I'm a new member. It's amazing to be here. Hope I can get so much enlightenment and do good things as other great people do on this site :)
We are very glad to have you here Ricky and I am happy to know the Blog was useful to you.

It can be a problem if you trust everyone you meet online. Our more experienced members see these people come and go, sometimes causing problems for the members.
Spammers will be new members because we remove them as soon as we know about them. Spammers will also be too friendly for someone you just met and they will try to get you to make contact away from our site. The best rule is to not give anyone your email if you don't know them well.
I communicate directly with very few members because in our club it is easier to just post a comment or send a private message. That way we all stay safe.
I am glad that this has been helpful. I always suggest that anything or anyone asking us to leave the English Club should be avoided.
This is a very informative blog....Every newcomer should read this blog so that they don't fall victim to these bad people. Internet is a wonderful, magical place where there are lots of opportunities for everyone but sadly a few bad people have made it a dangerous place.... So everyone needs to know few necessary things to remain on safe side....
Thanks for this wonderful blog, Sir......
Thanks! Bob, you shared nice information about spammers, and gave how could we save them our self, it seems, you love EC members. Thanks you gave us your precious time. I'm so impressed to you Mr.Bob.....we're love you too...God bless you every bad stuff...( Ameen).
Thanks for sharing! That's a concern for MyEC!
I like that little Spammer warning Anele. I need to copy it and use it when I find them bothering new members.
Another warning sign is that they don't want to message you privately here, but it has to be somewhere else. We know MyEC is safe, but we have to worry if we go to a strange site at the request of a spammer.
