Hello everyone!
This blog is going to be special...
I would like to invite all my friends here to exchange their learning experiences. How did you get to My English Club? What have you learnt here? Do you usually have lots of help from your contacts? Who are they: students, teachers or native speakers?
Do you believe MyEC is a place for learning? Why?
So, if you have other things to contribute... I will love to read about them. Feel free to share what you want here. And if you allow me, I'll use your answers in a research I have done about the learning process on My English Club.
Thank you so much!
Joyce.

Hi!
Thanks for your great topic! I come here.
The first, I want to improve my English skills, as you know I can learn from you or different members. example: How to use English words?, how to write a blog?, how do native speakers speak English?...
The second, I want understand about cultures in different countries in the world...
The third, I want to have more friends.
I agree with Nafis who says that the learning success on MyEC depends on each person. This is really a place to interact with different people from various parts of the world and there's much to learn!
I'm very happy to read all these stories. I see that many people are interested in learning and exchanging experiences and this is great! And as Larisa said, indeed, MyEC is a website where adults participate more. Teens are not so concerned with these kinds of things as we are. They prefer playing on the web! =)
Hi Joice,
Like you once I was surfing the Net looking for some interesting websites that can be unusual and inspiring for my students and ran across My English Club. At first I didn't realized it was a huge social community and used only different learning material. I bookmarked it at once. I like the way new words and phrases are presented here (e.g. idiom or slag, ... of the day).
I joined MyEC only in March and now I noticed I am hooked! When I turn on the computer I am in MyEC! I like friendly people here who are eager to help each other not only in English but giving advice or support in different situations.
I believe MyEC is a very good place for learning. There's everything for everyone which is updated all the time. And what is important there are English-speaking teachers who can be of real help any time. I recommend this site to my students and some of them have already joined it. But teenagers are just lurkers here and mostly use learning material, while adults are real participants in blogs and discussions.
Hi, Joyce
I knew MyEC and joined last December. One of many great things at MyEC is that I can find friends who willing to help me improve my speaking ability. I didn't know about Skype, but since I joined MyEC I can practice my speaking via Skype and Audio Speaking group.
I also can get feedback and correction when I wrote my blog posts, which really helpful to improve my grammar.
And of course, now I have friends from all around the World.
well...I found it when I surfed the internet casually.and I have no idea it is social network.but I was so excited when I saw so many beautiful pictures and funny blogs, even friendly friends!I felt in love with it.haha~it's interesting!
And I am just a college student, and just love the language, and then to learn....
I don't have that much help from my contacts. Some of my friends are really active and determined and therefore, they leave comments on my blog or take part in Audio Speaking Group. Some of them helped me a lot. Dear Bill who is an English teacher helped me a lot and I owe big to him.
MYEC is a place for learning but it depends on us mostly how determined to learn and take part in English challenges. I also learned a lot through Tara's challenges and also her advice.
Thanks, Nadira!
I do believe that EC has been a revolution in the teaching and learning process of English Language online. I have done researches and they have proved that people have improved a lot of their English here and it's not about the language, but also culture and other things. You know, this is something that we all have reached together, once we dedicate some time to read what people write, record on videos, post etc.
Thanks everybody for the efforts on helping others here! =D
Thank you for your great and valuable suggestion.
I joined My English Club in December 2009,at that paticlar time I was bit restless,I joined the club accidentally for two reasons.
One I was searching for exercises on speech practise as minimal pairs, tongue twisters etc.:for my students.
Two this was a period I was feeling the vacum of my" My Kids International UK English "which is a fantastic course for kids through E learning. I was one of the franchisee for this course of Professor Gerry Knowles thorugh our head office ILDP ACademy Colombo, who are the Sri lankan liscence holders. incidentally Hema; co owner has also become a member of My EC http://my.englishclub.com/profile/HemapriyaSurendran?xg_source=prof...
I was feeling lost after giving up this school , I taught through virtual.
The vacum of time gave me to explore more this fantastic new English learning link
I got into : My EC and was hooked on to it. It was more than a source for reference!
I started with commenting and reading voraciously discussions and blogs.
I had this fear of blogging, little did I realize then , it was some thing I did every day, in another term writing.
It took me few weeks to get to the chat as this was the for the first ever experience. There were teachers , elderly and younger native speakers, and advanced speakers in general who lent their hand in motivating teenagers, young adults, and other to enjoy and learn Englsih in a fun way with humour , laughter and bondage. Of course even then, I remember bad apples were reported and they were removed instantly by the administration.
I was able to interact with learners and identify their accents errors, their topics either through voice or chat, which made me more understanding on relevant subjects.
The time I usually am in, the chat room are of people of all ages teenages to adults.
I know this very well as I interact with them pretty closely. some of them wish to talk casual , no matter what they will not go serious , they are priviledge to that ,as it is learning process too, so I have learnt informal and formal chat in the moderated room. also there are the negative aspects of unwelcome trouble makers , who gets reported. I can see the room still a place where people enjoy themselvs with their circle of friends harming no one seriously in the long run.
I solely believe under the patronage of English Club , members are able to cover all their need in understanding the language, be it as a student , teacher or jsut a lover of the lang.
Through the chat many have improved ther vocabulary , speech and freindship .
Through the links of EC feed it helps us enormously with lesson plans to teachers , students under the link learn English, where they are exposed to numerous exerciser on all four learning skill ie reading , writing, hearing and speaking.Much thanks to our Administrator we are regularly given motivational exercises in developing our writing skills
This is an unique and well structured club, where learning English is made easy and joyful:
joyful as it is socially based too.
Much thanks goes to the creator Mr Josef, Tara and the staff behind EC for making it , s to what it stands for,
That's right, Anele!
Thanks for your contribution!!! =)
