We tend to wonder what we don’t know and envy what we don’t own.
For me, it is very true. I don’t live near a sea, and in my culture there is very a little part about sea culture. So the first time I read about sea culture, a dream of visiting the real open sea was pregnant in my mind. As time goes by, it grows strongly, as if I could fly all my romantic dreams at the vast sea.
To have a dream, you can feel sweet in heart; and to realize a dream, you will feel happy and excited, even if it is just a little one.
I cant forget the first time I went to visit the sea years ago, also I was inspired by the free sea, and wrote a little free poem, whose title was Sea Girl.
It was a beautiful day, and I arrived at the beach at dusk when Mr. Sun was about to go home after a day’s work. Watching some people swimming freely just as a fish, I felt jealous, not too much though. I enjoyed myself on the beach as well.
The voice of waves dancing, as I remembered, was sexy and tempting. Sitting on the soft sands, I took of my sandals and closed my eyes. Slowly, I didn’t hear people’s laughter, but only the song of the sea, only the kisses of the wind, only the quickened heart beat of myself. I couldn’t recognize if I was in a dream of the sea, or the sea was in a dream of me…
Soon the night screen hang down, Mr. Sun worked off totally while Mrs. Moon took his turn on duty together with their kids the stars. The passionate sea became peaceful, so did the trees and all the others around. All of us fell into silence, except the naughty stars. Seeing their mom a bit tired, I started to sing a lullaby for them in order to make them rest and leave the mellow vibe for the sea, the trees and others after a hot day. “Twinkle, twinkle, little star; how I wonder what you are…”
Once I came back home, I took up my pen and wrote down the poem in my mind as soon as I could. Here goes it, sharing with you:
Sea Girl
I live my unique life
I dream my fantastic dream
I decide my own decision
I smile my happy smile
I eat what I like eating
I drink what I prefer drinking
I play what I think playful
I read what I believe readable
Never will I force you
Nor will I beg you
Like me, you stay
Dislike me, go away
