Yesterday I was reading the story written by Darius in the chat room. It was a fantastic story of an elephant. It motivated me to apply the same concept on broader aspects. Let me put the different narratives first.

American - Its a Uni-polar world, and we American have the great responsibility to maintain peace and order for the welfare of all countries. If any country or organization threat peace than its our obligation to deal with it with consensus or unilaterally if required.

Results of this narrative - Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Sudan, Yugoslavia, Kosovo, Libya, ISIS, containment theory, conflict with China etc

Russian - We want peace, we believe in social justice. We are a great race and happened to be a super power. We are deceived by the American (NATO actually). And we are suffering because of it, till today. We wont fall into any trap this time. And will fight for the rights of Russians and Russian speaking people.

Result - Trust deficit, annexation of Crimea, Ukraine problem, Economic slowdown, Euro zone Crisis, tension in eastern Europe.

Chinese - We had a great civilization and we are rising again. We are trying to get what belongs to us but we do not understand why neighboring countries call it Chinese aggression. We have the largest population and we should have a great deal of share in world resources like Eastern china sea, Southern china sea, Askin chin, Arunachal Pradesh. We do not believe in democracy and we are doing good without it.

Result - Problem of Tibet (Dalali Lamha), Xinjiang, East China sea island's fight with Japan, claiming on oil reserves of south china sea, verbal battle with Vietnam, Philippians, South Korea, Taiwan. Hong Kong demand of democracy.

European - We have fought war with each other for some 200 years. Now we got the eternal truth. In a war no one is victorious. Only losers. We pledge that we wont fight any far on our land. But if a war does not fall on our land and does not affect us very much than we can provide arm and ammunition support to others. Religion should be separated from state policies. Liberty, freedom of expression etc matter too much

Result - NATO operations, Eurozone formation, European Union, a strong voice of all countries. People with fundamental Islam find secular wrong. Strong arms industries.

Islamic Narrative - Whole world is made by Allah and we all are devotee to that almighty. Basically shariyat laws should be applied everywhere and Quaran should be taught to all. Western liberal ideas are dangerous to society. And thing that is wrong, we should fight against it on the name of Jihad.

Result - Rise of Islamic fundamentalism, Many foreign (esp US and NATO) got opportunities to intervene in domestic situation. Over emphasis on religion results in more sectarian wars of Shia's and Sunnis etc.

African - We are yet to find our narrative, but out problems are different then rest of the world. We are poor, illiterate, destitute. The rise of Islamic fundamentalism is a problem for us as well.

Result - Somalia problem, Sudan, Libya, Ebola, poverty, Chaos...

Israel Narrative - Palestine land belongs to Jews. Jews are not treated well all across the world so we created this nation for the our community. We wont tolerate any treat against us. And crush all those who will even try to go against us.

Result - Unrest in Middle east, Palestinian problem, Fundamentalism in Jews.

Indian - Being an Indian I know its not easy to write Indian problem on a piece of paper. But here are the prominent ones. Self interest is the only interest of ours. We do everything peacefully, but not quite sure about results. Our society is the oldest civilization, and full of internal contradictions.

Result - Caste, class, religion fault lines, but Indian-ness still exists and thriving. There are internal differences but yet similarities are more than those differences. Kashmir and China problems are old problems. A rising country and neutral on most issues.

I will be discussing the decision taken by these power houses on the name of these narratives in coming future.
