You are right, it is happening everywhere someway or the other even back there in native country discirmination is very much in the form of cast and creed and languages.
I got your point, MARY. We shouldn't hide us behind the laws, and use them as an excuse for our actions.
We have to question laws by using our common sense and humanity.

As I said in previous comments, I put as an example some old discriminatory American laws but ofc stuff like this happened everywhere and still is happening. And it's not only about racial segregation, but all kind of unfair laws (gender segregation for instance is still very common everywhere). This blog is about not to take for granted that we have to follow laws just because they are 'laws'. Laws are not sacred and we can make them change.

I reply the same as in my previous comments, it's not about poiting fingers only at US. There are unfair laws everywhere, this was just an example.

It was the dilemma in 60s in US, but it is still going on here one way or the other more especially under current regime. They don't see what comes out when cuts white or colored finger. Even when a white life is saved by the blood of a black. Pitty.
...but I think Americans can point Spain and Spanish people in the map already haha...

Sorry, I forgot to add something. Racism is not only an American problem. Everywhere, also in Europe, and also in my own country, Germany, there are people which are against people because they come from foreign countries. The problem is increasing around the whole world.
I totally agree with Iris, this nefarious racism is a taunting global issue, I have lots of trouble trying to irradicate it from innocent lil' me. :-)

A human with common sense can't imagine that people get insulted, mistreated, excluded, killed, and all that because of their origin, skin color, religion, or whatever.
It's important to remind the people because often people don't care for others. They just care for own comfort.
Your pictures are from a past time but past time is unfortunately not over yet.
It doesn't happen only until the end of the past century. It still happens.
It shocked me, having heard and have seen, also in our time people sell humans.
There is a new market for selling slaves in the north of Africa, in Libya (for example).
People, escaped from war or poverty or violence, with hopes for better life in Europe or wherever, wait in camps in human-unworthy conditions and circumstances.
Reporters have been there to investigate reports what refugees told them.
They reported about Slave Markets over there.
Some reporters pretended to be interested in buying slaves, and they documented with hidden cameras the procedure.
Unbelievable!!!! I was sitting in front of my TV and got angry.
I saw with my own eyes how people sold Africans refugees. I couldn't believe!
But we must not only look at Africa.
Also nowadays in America, in the US, we see still discrimination in terms of race or skin color. Look at the Ku Klux Klan. They are still active in the southern States of the US, and they found a new self-confidence after the election with Donald Trump. That's a fact also if the US always plays the game of being the human conscience of the whole world and think to have the right to judge others. They have to do still a lot in their own country and society. Of course, there are no more the visible signs of apartheid anymore but they are still alive in many regions and people don't hide their attitude. Still, until today they ride with their horses, hide their faces with white lace masks and burn crosses of apartheid.
