What do you think about the truth? Some say something we believe, alright. Is that thing you believe a truth for real?
Let’s see how philosophy sees the truth.
From picture 1. You see the railway. Do you think the parallel lines will be meet at one point? Logically no, because if those lines unite at one point, the train will slip and off of track. This kind of truth is called ‘Rational truth’ it based on our logic.
From picture 2. You now see those lines unite at one point? How could it be? Because we see it from specific point of view. If you can enter the picture, try to take one or two steps forward and you will find the position of the point change. If you still unsure, run to that point and see your self whether that meeting point is exist for real or not. Our logic has already said it impossible the parallel lines meet at one point but our eyes told different truth. This kind of truth caused by our eyes is called ‘sensory truth’ and its trustworthy level is the lowest among others truth, because our sensory organs –eyes, ears, tongue, nose and skin- are easily got deceived by the outer appearance.
Next, any of you have a walk from start point of the railway until the end point. Then, you find out the parallel lines indeed never meet. You get this truth from experience and experiment, this kind of truth is what we call it ‘science’. You may think this ‘science’ is final truth, the most trustworthy truth we ever have because we already prove its correctness. Bad news for you guys, science have three trust levels, they are :
-feasible true
-possibly true
-plausibly true
Have you heard about ‘axiom’? axiom or postulate is a statement that is taken to be true, to serve as a premise or starting point for further reasoning and arguments. Axiom holds the highest level of truth in science. Even though so, axiom still be falsificated by the recent theories, and when this happens, axiom is no more than a mere ‘feasibly true’ science. Later I will write more about ‘falsification’

Thanks for dropping by,. Maybe you refer to a secret/mystery hidden inside someone? well, I think I have written it above, the truth is truth, not a personal thingy. but, our belief is, a very personal thing.

it makes sense if someone -or many ones- asked themselves and start to ignore it because the question would lead them on doubt. It means their belief is not strong enough. they may turn into ignorant, yes. but life is going on and someday the question will come back anyway in order to test their convictions.

What an awesome mother you have, I couldn't be more agree. The truth would never be accepted by those who don't want to accept it. But sometimes, people wont accept the truth while another time, thing that people accepted is not a truth.

What you say about how many people are able to ask questions to themselves and to question their beliefs or convictions, well... I think usually people don't do that because it can lead to have doubts about things that some people don't wanna face or are not gonna be able to accept. It can be very scary, because some questions can change all your life and people are afraid to change. But anyway... denial can be also a life choice.
