   I have had a surprise birthday party two weeks ago. I was overwhelmed by the love, kind and care my friends showed me. Staff were asked to go to work on Saturday to catch up some paper work. When I walked near the School I saw all my friends were gathered at the car park. They told me we just planned to go to bowling. I was confused and no one ready to say any thing. I never been to bowling before. But I managed to score good. It was a lovely surprise. Then my friends took me to a restaurant, we order food and we ate, every one acted normal. I was confused through out my time there.

After we all finished eating, the restaurant staff brought the birthday cake and others around me starts to sing happy birthday. I was so overwhelmed and I was in tears. All of them kept secret and it was a lovely surprise. When I was thinking about that, I come across the word 'overwhelm'. I was trying to learn little bit more about this word 'overwhelm'

overwhelm /əʊvəˈwɛlm/

According to Cambridge dictionary overwhelm means, to cause or affect some one feel sudden strong emotion, to defeat some one or something by using a lot of force or If water overwhelms a place, and it covers completely and suddenly.
