It was a Sunday morning and I was sitting comfortably in balcony, checking facebook messages and sipping hot coffee. I heard sound of my wife’s footsteps getting closer and closer and I immediately put my mobile down on the coffee table. She came near to me. I looked at her face and mumbled “Something fishy”. She said “See how’s my new dress”. Does it suit me? I just bit my tongue and said “WOW”. “You are looking really beautiful, now you look half of your age only”. Her face became as bright as the Sun. Soon her face changed. I told myself “No one can predict what is going on in women’s mind”. She said “tell me who is more attractive, me or your colleague”. I rolled my eyes at her .This time her voice became louder and desperate. See, you are not telling anything. I know you don’t have any love left towards me and she went inside irately.

“Holy Shit”, I said myself.

After sometime I heard a knock at the door. My wife opened the door. “What a surprise!” She exclaimed. Hearing this, I went inside. To my surprise it was my colleague and her husband. She was looking gorgeous in her pink saree, with little make-up. Without any second thought I asked her “You made a new haircut”?  She became so excited and started boasting about her new haircut. I lost for a second. I asked myself “Are all the women same"? Anyway I and her husband made our way to discuss political issues and the ladies went inside for gossiping.

Soon after they left, my wife came to me and said: “Now I know why you are coming late to home”. I narrowed my eyes on her. She continued “Morning I had to come and tell you that I bought a new saree and for making me happy you made some positive remarks and now, when your colleague came you immediately noticed and appreciated her for her new haircut. I know you don’t have any love left towards me and started crying”.

And I was at my wits end and I tried everything to calm her down but nothing had worked.
