Once, in the time of evening twilight

It's the time of twilight. Nobody sees the woman behind the window of the house next to the park. She is hiding behind the curtains. She doesn't want anyone to see her.
She likes watching the young lovers, sitting on the benches in the park, holding their hands and kissing each other.
She smiles, but in her eyes gleam tears. She is far away from the reality, lost in dreams. She's back in time when she was also one of those couples.

She is married, but the passion of her marriage has gotten lost in the daily routine of the years. She had always tried to keep the love alive. It was in vain. If one in marriage sees the other's love as self-evident or even no longer perceives it, what else can one do?
She misses being wanted, desired by her husband. She barely remembers the last stroll with him while he was holding her hand. She remembers the good years with sadness and longing.

The woman behind the window awakes from her daydream. She wipes away the tears, goes back to the sitting room where her husband watches TV as always.
"Time for dinner?", she asks him while she kisses him on cheeks.
"Hmmm.. if you want," he says.
She goes to the kitchen and prepares something for dinner.
Both eat in silence.
He doesn't stop watching TV during dinner. He doesn't notice her soul-pain.
She does still love him, that's why she stays. There is still hope, deep inside her, but she isn't sure for how much longer.

  • Hi, Ramnord.

Thanks for reading and commenting on my blog. You got me exactly. But if we don't expect anything in life, there would be a standstill. It's hard to realize and to accept such situations but much harder to change them. Sometimes the only result is resignation.

  • Ahmed N.Elmenshawy, it's on you to build your own opinion.

  • Have you think

if she has a nice soul or not ?
