Dear Captain,

I am now in my winter holiday. Guess what I did today!

I was the bridesmaid of Ling! Yes, she came out of the sanatorium last year and took a job as a kindergarten teacher. It has been a coon's age since I saw her.  And I never expected we would have reunite under such a situation.

Her groom is a merchant, and he is very rich. Ling told me the marriage was arranged by her father, but she liked the man also. Her smile was charming from the beginning to the end in the wedding. I am glad she has found the happiness. I am happy for her.

But I am in a low mood right now. We three girls, Su, Ling and I are best friends. Su is gone to the heaven, Ling is now married and has her own family, while I am still at university. I used to think we three would stay together always, yet as you can see, God takes away Su and the merchant separates Ling from me.

Captain, I feel so lonely and restless. I've no ideas what life will throw at me next. I miss the old days... I don't want to grow up. I always regard me as an innocent and simple kid, but today I strongly feel my kid's days have gone. How weird I feel it is! I dare not imagine the coming days I will face.

Captain, do you believe in fate? There is a voice telling me that I will travel far away someday... I really wonder.
