Dear Captain,
It has been a long time that I don’t write to you. It was a tough time and a dark time. Anyway I survive now, so don’t worry much about me. How has your life been in those days we don’t contact?
Captain, in the past year, I moved into a new house. My life changed, so did my mind, the old me is dead and gone. Because Su had a terrible traffic accident when she was back from visiting Ling and passed away. As you know, I don’t have many friends, Su and Ling are my best friends. I didn’t even tell Ling this bad news. Last time she wrote to me, oh it was half and a year ago, she missed Su and I so much. Later in the summer holiday Su came to invite me to visit her, but at that time my grandpa was in hospital and I had to take care of him. I didn’t expect that…I should have gone with her, maybe if I was with her, she wouldn’t have such a…I felt so sorry, so sad, so…
Captain, Su was my neighbor for more than ten years, and she was the only kid of her parents. I remembered she liked staying with me when her parents were busy with business. Some nights we even slept together and talked about the books we both read, and usually she fell asleep faster than me. The next day when she woke up, she would apologize for this and promise me she wouldn’t fall asleep faster next time. That was not a big deal at all, but she was just such a caring girl.
We shared many similar hobbies; one of them is we both like letters better than emails. Though we lived closely, yet we wrote many letters to each other, whatever kind. I keep them together with Ling’s diaries carefully. They companied me every night when Su was gone in the past year…
Captain, I…
Best wishes for you, take care!
                                                                                                                     Yours sincerely
                                                                                                                           Nikita

  • Very true, Bala!

  • Letters are more lively than emails.... true.. cos its written and has some personal attachment, the handwritten words reveals the real mood and sentiments... whereas emails are typed and printed one, so mechanical...

    RIP, Su

  • Yes,true friendship lasts forever, especially for Nikita. Su has left her, and Ling is still far away from her. Life has changed, Nikita is growing mature. Let's wait and see her change!

  •               Hi my friend, what a sad letter, and what a big loss. Really it is very difficult to lose someone who cares about you, someone who you dare to be yourself with, and someone who is there for you when he or she is supposed to be somewhere else, actually, it is difficult to deal with such matter.  But, sometimes we conceive our missing love or happiness like a friend who passed away and left us alone. Maybe Nikita feels that, the reason of losing her happiness due to the loss of her love.

  • Hmmmm................so poor Su is already dead!

    RIP, Su!
