Dear Captain,

What are you doing now? Hmmm, let me guess! Are you half opening your eyes and your ears, resting on the deck, and thinking of things happened this day? It must be a fruitful and happy day, yes?

Today was sunny and warm, no wind no dark cloud. Looking out of my window now, I can see the sound sleeping stars and the quiet waning moon. Yes, I am sitting in the darkness which I am always afraid of, and thinking the messed day. To be honest, Captain, I need you now, how I wish you are right here by my side, hug me and tell me everything will be fine. But don’t worry; even though you are far away, I still have my pen and diary that are companying me.

Captain, do you think I am too sentimental or people too dispassionate? Do you also think everyday is the same? Today was Ling’s 16th birthday, Su and I went to her home and celebrated it together in her little but clean bedroom. Su made the cake, and I wrote a poem. While we were watching Ling’s classic dance, her father suddenly came back and said to her, “put away your luggage and I will send you to the sanatorium tomorrow morning” and then left.

Why did her father send her to the strange sanatorium? Why did her father told her the news on such a day? When I left her home, she begged me to take care of all her diaries. Though she was calm, but I heard her heart crying.

Captain, she is normal, she is mild, and she is caring. She just doesn’t like to talk to others but nothing is wrong with her spirit. Why does she have to suffer so much? As I told you, she tried her best to please her cold father, but finally she may share the same way with her mother, who was committed suicide in the sanatorium. What was her father thinking, isn’t she as important as her little brother?

I don’t know. I am scared. I am worried about her.

I feel so tired. Good night, Captain. Oh, no, I should say good morning now. Take care!

                                                                                                              Yours sincerely

                                                                                                                        Nikita
