I have joined MyEC on 5th August. August is the month I was born so I think myEC is one of my present on birthday this year.As a newcomer here, I enjoin many new things. I love English. But I'm bored with learning English in the old way: reading a text, filling the missing words or listening a conversation than answering. I had learned that way for a long time in the past. I want a way more active. I searched on the internet and found MyEC.1st thing made me impressed is Mr ModaWay 's "col location of TAKE". After being approved to be a member, I commented at that discussion with much joy.Than I read blogs here. I love blogging. In the pass I wrote many blogs on YahooBlog. The topis is all about me and my life (written in our language). It liked an online diary. After long time without using, I found all my blogs post lost. They closed all without any saving. I tried to recover but there was no way.At the beginning intended to find a place to chat (keep using English). But now I prefer blog. I have written 10 blogs this month (August). Comparing with 244 of all members I think I made an important role on blogging (4%). I'm just kidding to encourage myself. After each written blog, i'm eager to receive feedback from other friend. I check almost 3 hours to see new comments. This is kind of addition :D.Some of my blog is not a good one. But some get many possitive feedback. Evangeline said that my blog - "MY HUSBAND" was the sweetest blog she ever read here. It is so sweet. Is that my record! (^.^)While writing now, I must write a draft. There are some words I don't know I must use dictionary. And thank my phone and my computer to correct my spelling automatically. I hope one day I can just think and write immediately and perfectly likes using our language. As recent, my blog 's topic are still myself in my real life. It is easy for me to write. I love reading real stories of members here too.The story impressed me most is about a shy Chinese girl with a germany boy (named "Why are you so quiet"). I want to read again but can't find where it is.Another thing is a friend Keen Learner, I don't see her any more. She met some spammer here. So she might leave MyEC or set her page Individual. So if you read this blog Keen Learner, can we make friend? Thank you.Another thing I like here is I get many help of kind persons to improve my English. I'm sure my blog contain many mistakes. So friend if you find any fault in my blog, kindly show me. I really appreciate your help very much!So have a nice day and do what you want guy. Hope you all happiness!(P.s: I have written this draft since 30.08 but didn't have time to post).I don't know why but this song -Rude- appears in my mind. It may not concern with this blog but just enjoy! :)https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=PIh2xe4jnpk
To Expector Smith: yes, time adverbials are one of my disadvantages. I'm so confused. I don't know what is suitable... I hope it will be improve in future.
To Tanya: when I write here so frank and real, I don't want another know where i'm exactly. That is one reason.
I think about what you said: grammar. In the past (when I was on 9 grace) my English teacher gave us a summary table of all normal and familiar Grammar. She let us take many sentences to remember them too. I think it is a god way to learn. Now I don't save that useful summary. I think I should search someday on the internet.
I really enjoyed reading this and I'm pleased to know you're enjoying writing and reading blogs here on MyEC. You're already such an active member here - not a newcomer or newbie anymore.
In fact, making mistakes when you're writing in English is part of learning - Even advanced members here make mistakes, but we can learn from our mistakes. Don't be afraid of making mistakes - just keep writing!
By the way, can you try to fix the first sentence? 'I have joined MyEC on 5th August. ' -- Tips: There's a common learner error in it. You could have used another 'time adverbial' instead of 'on 5th August'. When you're using the 'perfect tense', you should use such prepositions as 'since', 'for', 'over', or 'during', but not 'on'. Hope you get it!
Dear Ann! It is a very good blog! Your writing is so frank and sincere! I like it very much! You are not scared to say what you mean and don't pretend to play any role. If I taught people how to live and communicate, you would get my highest score!
I,too, miss Keen Learner and don't know what happened to her. She disappeared so suddenly! I guess she might have been banned. She posted the blog about women's rights. It was tough enough and some Arabic men expressed their negative attitude to it. It might have been the reason, but I don't know for sure. I wish she were still with us in the EC!
I like ModaWay and his discussions, too. He is a nice man and I am glad he was the first whose discussion you replied.
I will correct your writing if you like. But being a teacher I have to say, nobody can speak good English without knowing at least some grammar. Please, think about it!
