New blog after so long

Hello

This is Zahra, from Shiraz, a beautiful city in Iran.

I have been a member of MyEC since around 15 years ago! Actually, I used to Live here those first years.

These days the memory of past popped up in my head (not sure if pop up is the right word here, if not please help me with that). So I decided to post sth after so long.

Actually for some reason I deleted the previous account with so many memories, blogs, friends, etc. My id was the same, Zahra, and I had a profile picture of my own picture when I was maybe around 2 years old.

I used to post blogs on the topics that Tara Benwell would propose here under the titles of "Writing Challenge". It was really helpful to our writing improvement.

The chatroom was also active which both helped me with my typing speed and chatting.

What do we say when we want to state that we had good memories of past? Any special idiom or statement for that?

PS-Those days I loved to have a nickname of *sparrow*. So let me sign this blog that way.

PS2-Anyone from those days still here?

P.S. I miss my old friends. I wish they were still here. Hope to see them around very soon.

    • Hi Nida... I think we know each other, though not too closely :) welcome back.

  • Welcome back! Maybe I know you, maybe not.

    • Thanks.

      Maybe...

  • popped up is correct or you could just say "popped" - it just popped in my head

Reminisce / recollect are words that we can use to refer to past memories and nostalgia / nostalgic words we can use to indicate we miss those moments; remember them fondly.

Idioms?  take a trip down memory lane

    • Thanks Tim. It was helpful.

      Yeah... Nostalgia...That's it! 👌

  • I regret deleting my previous account.

  • In Spanish we say... 'Cualquier tiempo pasado fué mejor' something like... any other past time was better, it sounds sort of pessimistic tho. We must get used to the coming days)

PS 2. I thought I was an old member but seems you're much older 🤔
