Congratulations! You have helped make MyEnglishClub one of the most successful social networks running on the Ning platform. (2,000,000+ networks have been built on Ning to date.)
As you may know, MyEnglishClub.com runs on the Ning platform (unlike EnglishClub.com, TEFL.net and EasyEnglish.com which run on our own servers). That means that MyEnglishClub.com runs on Ning servers, using Ning software and design.
As a result, we have limited control over the features we can add to MyEnglishClub, though in my opinion Ning do a great job and are one of the best social media platforms to use, perhaps even the best.
We recently received an email from Ning, which I paraphrase below:
--
We couldn't help noticing that MyEnglishClub.com is one of the most successful networks on the Ning platform.
If you have time and are willing of course, could you please share some tips or secrets about network running that could help newcomers to build successful networks as well and handle them afterwards?
Our priority is to add new features to the platform. Is there anything we can improve for you on our end?
Best regards
Ning Team

Although I shall be responding to this email in due course, I asked Ning's permission to share it with MyEnglishClub members, and to ask MyEnglishClub members to comment, specifically with your ideas on:
- what makes MyEnglishClub successful
- what new features you would like to see added
Please share your comments below and I will pass them on to Ning.

@Shekhar About your comment for information for newbies, it was work of welcome team but seems team is quite active now. I guess they can add it as a automated bot to leave a welcome note along with helpful links for each approved profile.
and as you asked for dictionary, I use dictionary.com chrome extension that works on all pages no matter if it is MyEC or any other site. You can give it a try as well.
Josef Essberger, Congratulations.
MyEC is the best learning site. Thanks for creating such a great one sir. This room is very good with different kinds of stuff like blogs, discussion, photo and writing challenge.
Sir, Here some of the suggestions:
>Newbies are not aware of teachers and moderators. Please give an outline about the teachers and moderators when they join.
>Sometimes are not comments receiving and shows errors. Please fix this problem.
>Please add some more emojis to the chatroom as well as comment box.
> Why don't we create MyEC own dictionary or translator? Many new words are flowing in many blogs and comments and learners are looking for dictionaries.I think it is highly needed.
>Create an application of MyEC. It will be handy to use on smart mobiles.
Dear Sir Josef,
I hope you remember this discussion made by Muhammad about a year ago. There were many suggestions for you about the features to add on MyEC.
However, I'd like to enlighten my own view about it, which are not different to them. :)
1) If it is not voice chat in chat room, I hope at least there is feature of voice message, both in commenting or in messaging.
2) A counter of number of comments on posts on members' profile, this is what forum site has in usual.
3) Is it possible that we can UPLOAD A VIDEO directly on blog posts or comments instead of pasting embed code?
4) Adding special MyEC EMOTICONS in commenting sections. :))) :D
5) The feature of moderating blog comments for EACH blog, not for all blogs. This is needed for quizzes, games, or puzzles.
That are my suggestions now. :))))
Thank you so much for taking into your considerations. ^_^
I like MyEC is a place where I can get a lot of information to continue advancing in my learning. Good work and greetings from Spain.
Congrats!
Use more and better emojis!
Please Add "Markdown syntax" to Your Editor! (especially for Blogs and discussions)
Why Don't U add more features to the Editor? I mean more Font-families, some text-colors, some back-colors, Table-editor and so on.
Formatting all the TAGS is so much bothering!
Can you solve this problem?
Regards, M.A.
Congratulation Josef! I just realized that you are the creator of this site after reading this blog
Thank you Expector, and I know Tara will appreciate your thoughts too. Re (regarding) the mobile version, you and others are quite right that it is somewhat lacklustre. That is one of the suggestions I have recently made to Ning - that they create a proper "responsive" site that functions well on smartphones, and/or iOS/Android apps. My own preference is for a responsive site since apps go against the open nature and level playing field philosophy of the original internet/world-wide-web. However, I can imagine that creating a high-quality responsive site for such a network would be difficult. Even FB can't seem to handle that properly and instead push everyone into their ring-fenced apps.
By the way, in my previous comment, I used 'the best social network' instead of 'one of the best social networks', because MyEC is the best in my heart, not 'one of the best'!
The thumbs up again!
In response to the first question, you have to mention MyEC creator Josef and the former administrator Tara - MyEC wouldn't have been the same without Josef and Tara! I take my hat off to them!
As for the second question, the mobile 'desktop' version of MyEC looks just the same, but doesn't function so well, for example, I can't feature any blogs on my smart phone!
