My friends! Taking part in Onee's game "Guess my Word" has just prompted me an idea of this challenge. Well, my idea is the following. I will give you the list of words describing our appearances and characters and will ask you to describe some person. It would be nice if you describe not only positive but also negative personalities, men as well as women. So, your creativity is limited only with the lenght of your compositions for us to be able to correct your mistakes. So, here is the list of words. Most of them are adjectives, but, of course you can use the appropriate nouns if you like. You don't have to use all of them, only those you need in your stories. • Danny, well done! Thanks!

  • Yes, it is. But, so far I know fasting is observed in other s too. And, it is good for health. I think, now I know the difference between ago and before. To me ago is for present tense and before is for past and writers word, right I am.....thanks for posting new challenge , but I am afraid, I will not do it before sunday, thanks.
  • Yes, you made me laugh but not that much because I am fasting so a bit weak( not hungry at all). Anyway, thanks a lot for your help! Is tiler that person who fixes tiles? Not sure so,my guessing may be true or may be wrong, right? Yes, for now your explanations make a sense to me to understand them. But, I can't be sure until Tanya will post another task for us. And, is there any differences between ago and before?

  • Well, I went through them and these answers were given by Tanya, you may know! My question is why in No. 4....It was not changed as....the woman played the piano yesterday was my friend? same question for no. 6, for no.10. need explanation and again why (no.12) not.....the recently published fiction was written two years ago? Along with it, wanted to know is there any differences between ago and before? Sometimes I face problem with maybe and may be, sorry for asking many questions when we know you both are on a vacation, dear teachers!

1.The man standing in the lobby was a participant of the contest.
2.Playing children are usually very noisy.
    3. The woman playing the piano is my friend.
4.The woman who played the piano yesterday is my friend.
5.The movies shot by Hollywood are always interesting.
6.The scholar who has written this article is abroad now.
    7. Having read a new fiction, he shares with us his opinion about it.
8.Knowing him well, I didn’t ask any questions.
9.Having come to the stadium, we saw the game had already begun.

  • Sure, thanks.
  • Oh sorry participle phrase.
  • Owao.....thanks for the nice picture, happy to see at least. Yes, people call it zesmin too. We went to florida last summer. We do not live over there. Now I find the difference but it seems I should learn prrpositional phrase
  • Thanks a lot, Sir! And, let me say that I really appreciate your help so much. Yes, I know about soda because last summer we met a family in Fort Lauder dale. There was a little boy who wanted to have soda. First, it struck ( is it struck?) my mind, I wondered what was it? And, later, I got it.

About my name....lol.....Yesmin is a name of a flower ( though I have not seen it yet!) and Afroza is that colour which we could see during twilight.

Now let me ask,  the difference between Lying on the couch he was reading a book and He was reading a book lying on the coach is really not so easy  for a non-native speaker. Maybe it sounds worse but it is true that still they have same meaning to me (pardon me please). So, would you please explain? And, yes, I am also trying to know myself. Thanks in advance.

  • Thanks a lot Danny for correcting my lots of  mistakes! And, I am really sorry to do so. So, have you any suggestions for me how can I improve? I am a bit disappointed, but I also do believe as more I will write, the more I will find my mistakes.

Anyway, I was also thinking it was SHE who was holding a glass of soda, but most probably the misplaced sentence ( I mean wrong allocation) changed the meaning....lol

About dancing.....I wanted  to mean...people danced sometime ago....it may be....Brad reached that place where he found the music was fading away ( is it fading away?) and after became fascinated to that girl he started wondering whether she danced with that guy or not, am I clear?

Now, its about my name....hahaa.....I am Afroza Yesmin from Bangladesh.....my nick is totally different but  some of my colleagues call me as Afro. Thanks!

  • Thanks Danny for your kind attention.  I appreciate that, and find your corrections very beneficial.
