Taif is a mountainous city located in the western region of Saudi Arabia. The elevation of Taif is at more than 1800 mts. above sea surface. Taif is famous for producing some kind of fruits, honey, and rose's fragrance. It is also famous for its moderate weather in the summer and so cool weather in the winter that it's nominated as a cool destination for the internal tourism here in Saudi Arabia.
Two months ago, I had a business trip to Taif that I spent the whole day there. It was really awesome trip. The most amazing of it was the mountainous road which crossed the slopes of the Mountains. I could spend so exciting time being driven onto the slopes there. Also, there were some groups of chimpanzee, which used to sit on the side of the road and be fed by people who stopped their cars to watch them and take some pictures.
Here, I am sharing some of the photos taken on the road of Taif, so you could sense some of the joy that I had there..

Btw, good camera.
Thank you so much for your supportive comment, LUCInka :D
Don't you think that our Earth is amazing.. what I am thinking about now is that we need to stop this heretic life that we are having for a moment and take a more careful look at our common home "The Earth".
Greetings to you and your sweet family, Luci :)
Evangelina
you are subtle observer as usual, Eva :D
Actually, there are more than the cubic chambers that this photo especially can tell us about.. Can you see the tiny climbing road ascending the mountain and crossing the down road in the middle??
This road, Eva, is the ancient walkway to Taif.. They call it the way of caravans, because anciently (and before the cars were produced), they used to take this road on feet with camels and cattle.. Still, you can see it, as nothing changed about it.. We stopped our car down in the beginning of that road and tried to ascend some distance of it, but believe me it was very exhausting.. I wonder how they used to travel on feet that time in the ancient eras!!!
Back to your question, I suppose that those caravans used to sit and take rest on the way, where they could drink water or take a nap, and I suppose that this cubic chambers were used as water reservoirs on the caravan walkway..
Thank you so much really for your subtle observation and your nice remark.. I invite you officially to take a trip along this way here when you decide to come :D but, please dont die there, coz there are still so much more to see :D
noaslpls,
Comparing ourselves to the universe, We are much much tinier than we even could imagine.. and much much huger than we could understand.. The creation is really astonishing..
mitran,
It is really awesome.. Have an awesome day :)
setareh,
I also saw an awesome picture in your profile about the mountains.. This feeling that you have when you go in the nature is ambiguous... a mixture of feelings.. joy.. frightening.. weak... ignorance... we should pay more attention to our nature observing it.. That's what I am thinking about myself now..
Adaline,
yeah, you are right.. when I was writing this, I thought that people might be unaware of the awesome nature that it is here in Saudi Arabia...
For example, if I am gonna show you this
Will you believe it is in Saudi Arabia :D
I just need to say that there are more about our Earth that we are completely unaware of.. I believe that there is an awesome nature hiding behind every place around us.. we just need to pay more attention..
And, yes I agree with you.. I started believing that mountains are the most awesome part of the creation :)
Thank you for your comment :)
