~~~~~~ Chapter 6 ~~~~~~
"May, may I have En. Hakim's phone number." She said to May. Finally, a few days later, Lina was brave enough to talk to Hakim.
With a deep breath, Lina dialed the number. "Hello, may I speak to Hakim please." Lina realised her hands were clammy and she was gripping the phone very hard.
"Hello! Lina is that you?" She could hear the smile in Hakim's voice. "Oh my God. I can still recognise your voice even after all these years." Hakim's voice sounded more matured. More self assured, not like an angst teenager anymore.
Lina thought that her voice sounded a bit like a trembling teenager, but she was really nervous to talk to Hakim. "Hi Hakim. I am sorry I did not talk to you sooner. You know.... I was busy with things ... " Lina knew that Hakim knew she was just making excuses.
"Hey, hey ... that is okay. You are one important lady in your Company. I am just glad that you call me back." Hakim reassured her.
After an awkward silent, Hakim said; "Why don't we meet somewhere this afternoon. There are a lot of things that we need to catch up on. You know office walls really have ears, well maybe eyes too." Lina could sense laughter in Hakim's voice.
After agreeing to meet Hakim later, Lina felt relieved.
"Hey, are we still on with that midnight movie tonight." Saufiq's voice interrupted the silent.
"Oh my God, Saufiq. I am so sorry. I had totally forgot about it. Can I have a rain check on that? I just made another plan this evening." Lina felt guilty for totally forgotten about their plan to watch the movie. They had been planning to watch it for the past few weeks.
"Hmm ... so what is the other great plan that you had made that you totally forgot about our movie night?"
Lina realised that Saufiq's voice had some edge to it.
"Ummm .... I promised to meet with Hakim, to talk things through. It's nothing really. I just need to do some closure." Reluctantly Lina had to tell Saufiq on her plan. She owed him that.
"Okay. Call me if you want me to beat him to pulp. I do have some muscles, you know." Though his voice still had the slight edge to it, Lina knew Saufiq was trying to lighten up the situation.
"I will. I will call you when I am back home. Promise."

Footnote:-
As explained in the previous chapter, Encik or En. is used to address a man in a formal conversation. In this case, even though Lina knew Hakim, but to show the formality of the conversation, she was using En. while addressing him to her Secretary.

sewar my friend. It's really interesting to read all my friends' views on this matter. Some are very much wanted Lina to find happiness with Hakim, to give him another chance, and some like you, wanted Lina to forget about him. Hi my friend, yes, I agree with you that everyone of us must have a room in his or her heart for forgiveness. But not all the faults deserve to be forgiven. I agree with you when you said..." heart sometimes ignore the obvious. That's why people got hurt....", that’s why we have to increase our awareness of the life constantly, and make our best to control our hearts not vice versa. For God’s sake my friend, how can I forgive the one who one day means the whole world to me, for his marriage to another woman and live the joy and the happiness, while I was swallowing the bitterness of the life!! No, I will not allow him to be a part of my dreams and my new life! Really, in this case there is no room for forgiveness. My best wishes for you.
Hehehe Bala from India, yes.... all my friends in EC are making me divided on choosing who's the best for Lina. Hmmm ... yeah .. yeah ... I'm thinking.. very very very hard now. LOL.

Hi my friend, actually, I believe in true love. I believe that love gives us second life, it grows into the soul, warms every vein and beats in every pulse but under one condition which is; when two people love each other, they don't look at each other, they look in the same direction. But in the story, Hakim looked at another direction. If my lover change his path why I keep going. Oh my God, where is my dignity as a woman, where is my bride as a humankind. Once, I mentioned in a comment which I wrote it in one of our friend’s blog that; if we want to be successful in our life, we have to follow our minds not hearts, every time when our hearts involve in any matter concerns us, we are lie down. Hmmm Sima .. I'm curious too. LOL. I'm sure Hakim had valid reason(s) for forgetting about Lina. Hakim was not ogre to just forgotten about her.
