The purpose of fruit and vegetable carving is to make food more attractive, more appetizing, and also easier to eat. Decorating fresh, well-formed, and colorful fruits and vegetables through artistic carving is by no means difficult; all it takes is concentration.And of course you need speciial knives for carving to carve them. As for me i like carving very much though i v started not long ago but it attracts me very much. I love carving. I would like to give advices those who are interested in carving. Before carving,fruits and vegetables must be washed and cleaned thoroughly.One should use knives with stainless steel or bronze blades. Knives with ordinary steel blades will cause discoloration of fruits and vegetables.After carving,fruits and vegetables should be placed in ice cold water so the petals of flower designs are firm and spread beautifully.After carving, a pumpkin should be dipped in water and removed right away. If left in water, flower petal designs will become bruised. here are a few of my works.

I've only seen some decorated fruits on the dinner table for the wedding reception before, but they were not the way like you mentioned. Frankly speaking, I've never known & never ever seen such artistic & composed decoration on the foods, which supposed to be mainly stimulating some kind of appetites to eat with pleasure.
Just as one thought, hence, how many people can really put it into their mouth when they see such beautiful fruit? For me, it won't be easy, I think, and I will be definitely struggling perhaps as I am so indecisive, in front of such a fabulous, fantastic & beautiful fruit, thinking of it with a sense of beauty in mind.
