Hi Ec friends,This may be an issue that you asked to yourself in any time. Has self employment more advantages than working for a boss?In my case, I have always worked for my own company, so I could say that I don't have a boss to deal with every day but I assure you that dealing with the members of the company is not less stressful, so a friendly environment and inspiring confidence to your mates are vital to the company to success.Advantages for me are that I have a flexible schedule, it means that I can take a day off or going later to work. If I feel like going out with my family for a holidays, I just take it, although I have also been called because of some machinery breakdown when I was 8000 kms. distance. In my case, I have to work every weekend too due to my sector job.In general, bosses have a bad reputation but let's put in their shoes and try to see things from their point of view; it's not always easy to face never ending problems like non payments, bad clients, search of new ones, attending meetings and fairs, updating machines, dealing with economical crisis and so on. By other hand, it's often satisfying realising that things have been alright at the end of the business day.Summing up, I'd state I'm grateful for my job, my coworkers, our success in difficult times in my country and all the people who trusts me and encourage me to keep on fighting.If you are thinking about it or have any opportunity to create your own business whatever it is, I'd encourage you to go for it and all over let me give you a tip: believe in yourself. Don't ask years later 'what if I would have tried...?'
I agree with you that we can make the most of our skills working for ourselves but luckily not only hardworking or talented people are self employees although I have known very skilful and disciplined people that lost their abilities when changed to the public sector haha...

It is better for people who are hard working, discipline and talented to work for themselves. If they use their skills and experiences for themselves, they will be more successful. Thanks for sharing.
Not so active since time is needed but I found great people here and it's a funny way of learning btw, you're one of my older friends here ;)
I totally agree with your comment, furthermore I believe that the bigger and healthier the private sector in a country, the more quality the public services become since goberment maintains them from taxes, well I don't wanna get into politics issues haha...

You are becoming an active learner in EC, I think there are lots of benefits of self-employment for both society and self-employed people, when most people are self-employed, then the government has less responsibility, in addition there are less corruption and bribery in society; on the other hand, self-employed people work better than government employees, because the more they work the more profits they get.
Several times I wanted to throw in the towel in the beginning but I learned that there's always light at the end of the tunnel, doesn't mind how long it is.
