The Poem was written by Amina Qutb from Egypt.. This woman missed her husband for long years while he was in the jail, because he was against the president that period of time (1970s). In 1975 her husband was out from his prison following the change of the president. Amina was very happy to meet her husband again, But unfortunately not for so long where he was imprisoned again at the time of the next president. but this time he was tortured to death. So he died in 1981 and she was in a real pain that she wrote this poem for him..
.........................................................................................
Might we meet..
Might we not..
Might it be on the land of illusion..
Then it went..
Then it faded..
Then it turned to the memories of misery..
***** ***** ***** ***** ***** *****
That way my heart is wondering..
When our farewell becomes too prolonged..
Then a phantom of you shows smiling :)
As if I am listening to the answer..
***** ***** ***** ***** ***** *****
Weren't we going together on that path!!
To bring back the blessing to the infertile deserts..
Weren't we going through that thorny way!!
Weren't we letting go of all desires!!
Weren't we hiding the missing in our hearts!!
Weren't we moving forward with patience and contentment!!
We had promised each other to walk the way together..
Then you let me alone and went to answer the call of death..
***** ***** ***** ***** ***** *****
When My Lord called me to answer the message..
To be in the heavens.. in the wide heavens..
To be with those who were the best..
Who had sacrificed their souls and their lives..
Who had answered the call without any doubts about it..
***** ***** ***** ***** ***** *****
Let it come back your heart from its departure..
Our meeting is there.. Is in those heavens..
***** ***** ***** ***** ***** *****
To that who is far away...
My apologies for complaining about my missing..
I just have no one but your phantom to complain..
You left my my heart bleeding heavily..
you left my heart lost..
in the middle of night among the mist..
***** ***** ***** ***** ***** *****
Then I am coming back lonely and confused..
Then I am passing my long way with depression..
Then the nights turn into an ocean of hopelessness..
Where the waves of misery collide and beat each other..
No flare is glowing my night..
There faded away all kind of lights..
But I will go on in spite of everything..
As you used to see me in front of all difficulties..
There will rise my head as my hope..
There will reject the failure and desperation..
There will guide me the pure bloods..
There will glow all steps of my way..
***** ***** ***** ***** ***** *****
Might we meet..
Might we not..
Might it be on the land of illusion..
Then it went..
Then it faded..
Then it turned to the memories of misery..

Oh, Sorry Mishaikh..
I appreciate your tears a lot... Trust me that I never listen to it without crying my tears.. It brings me so much sad but nice feelings whenever I listen to it again and again.. I believe that translation was nothing comparing to original script.. Just I wish I could convey some of its feelings through this translation..
Thanks for reading, listening, crying :D, and commenting. :)
Though I can understand Arabic Version, but it, however, fill my eyes with tears.
Thanks for making me cry.
Dear Noor :D
How are you? :D I am happy to see your activity again and happy to see your comment here also..
Well.. I wonder who told you that I was not taking poetry in my interest.. There has been a time in my life when I was considering myself a good Arabic poet.. but however, maybe you are right, because after I started studying engineering I completely forgot about poetry interests.. but still I have this fondness of good poetry whenever I hear it..
Thank you so much for reading and admiring it.. and thank you more for your nice soul.
Seems like Your are taking interest in poem now a days, I think it is positive change..:P
thanks for sharing...
Risty :)
Thank you for your nice comment.. I am happy that it can feel some good when it is translated.
Oh yes! This is so emo! I can even have a picture in mind of a woman writing in her room using a dim-light. Her eyes were blank, the glittering sets faded. She can hardly cry as she felt so numb.
Although this is painful, she still feels hopeful. That someday, God knows where they will be back into each other’s arms again.
A true love, enduring and striving.
Dear Rose :)
Thank you so much for your nice passing by.
Yes, I totally agree with you.. It's never easy to translate poetry.. That's why I told Rosemary below that I was thinking that I destroyed the poem when I translated.. Just hopefully I could convey some of how it feels.
That's a very touching poem, dear AG. You have done a good work because it isn't so easy to translate a poem to a foreign language.
The poem testifies the love of a wife for her husband. Both had to face a very tough fate.
Thanks for sharing with us that poem.
Luci :)
It's nice to see you always :)
Well unfortunately, her husband died in the jail. I edited the blog and said it above. and actually she wrote this poem about him after his death.. Now they both died.. So, I supposed that their souls are happy together by this time :)
Hello Valentina :)
It's really nice to see your comment here.. but to be honest, I blamed myself for sharing such a gloomy things when I see your comment.. I just want to attract your attention again to the lines:
But I will go on in spite of everything..
As you used to see me in front of all difficulties..
There will rise my head as my hope..
There will reject the failure and desperation..
There will guide me the pure bloods..
There will glow all steps of my way..
....................................................................
Well.. you know the good news about it, Valentina.. the good news is they are together now in the heavens.. So, to keep moving forward in spit of everything is a valuable thing at last..
and OMG :D
yeah yea.. that was very correct :D
I want to say Afwan, and Shokran for your ultimate kindness, my dear :)
Keep up your great soul :)
