LIVE A LIFE YOU WILL REMEMBER

"One day my father he told me,Son, don't let it slip away.He took me in his arms, I heard him say,When you get olderYour wild heart will live for younger daysThink of me if ever you're afraid. He said, One day you'll leave this world behindSo live a life you will remember. My father told me when I was just a childThese are the nights that never die"Yep, surely you recognised these words from an actual famed song, I love it by the way, although not only for its positive energy that makes me raise the volume while I hear it, but also for its message, well I admit I had to search the lyrics since I couldn't get the whole song (my bad English listening). The song also makes me recall old memories and advices and that's just what I would like to express now here, I mean that it'd be great that fathers or parents in general from my generation instill our kids the values which in my opinion the song show us. I'd summarise them in few words: live your life so that you won't regret about anything you did or you didn't do, life is short so don't let anything stop you from doing things you love or consider you should do at least once in a lifetime. For last and not less important, values like the friendship, loyalty, gratefulness... should be always beard in mind so that all those things are meaningful.O.K. I see my son with weird face if I talk to him about this or like saying 'what a drag'! Surely the same face when I was his age and someone talked to me of the same thing. At the end its they themselves who have to experience and learn from their own, but better if they already know the theory.https://youtu.be/UtF6Jej8yb4

  • Hi Elf, nice to see you here :)

Of course we must or should have responsibilities and surely the more we have, the more we enjoy our leisure time so I guess having fun whatever it is for us and chilling is almoost an obligation to keep on facing our duties. At least I need it :)

    Dear Mary,

O.k. Perhaps unconsciously adverts are introduced in our minds, anyway I just mean that if I wanna buy a viceroy watch, eating a whoper in a burger or have certain ideology is just because I like it and can afford it, I'm hungry and I'm in a hurry or own experiences made me think that way.
"keep calm and doing silly stufs" :D
Btw, I guess many wouuld vote for the same if we could.
  • nice blog...

I really liked the video which you have share here.. he is really living his life fully enjoying without any fear, any tensions.. In this video, seems like he is living his each day as a last day of his life...seems like he has no responsibility in his life...:) but it can't be possible that any person have no responsibility in this world..

We are not here for only enjoying our life, all of us have some goal, some responsibilities in our life.. like and dislike of these jumping, traveling, swimming and other silly things differ from person to person.. each person has  his/her own point of view about enjoying life..

    Thanks for sharing...

  • Oh that's it!  noaslpls just helped me to illustrate my point! You see? Just because that 'idea' we have in our mind of what is to live a life 'to the fullest', influenced by the media, we might feel that we're not doing our best in our lives if we don't go to travelling far, or doing other things that requires a significant amount of money. What if you don't have money? Or if you just enjoy reading books and driking tea? You might feel that you are not 'living your life' as much as you should because your tastes don't fit with these standards or because you can't afford them... That's why I think it's important to be sure of what we want to do with our lives, and to be sure that is something we REALLY want, and not because it's what people do, or what we see around us...  Estanis, I know we all think that we are not influenced, but most of the times, we are. And we don't even notice that. For this reason is also very important to ask to ourselves what we really want, and to be totally honest in our reply, after doing an exhaustive self-criticism exercise. Because it's EXTREMELY DIFFICULT not to be influenced and very easy go with the flow, even in the most insignificant things.

Btw this is also very important we have to ask to ourselves in election days ("what we really want") ...I always vote, even if I wish I could vote what I really want, that's to send into exile all the political class ;)

  • Hi Noaslpls!

I guess it's a matter of balance responsibilities and dreams following but I'm sure our attitude play a very importantly role. Or maybe I'm watching the glass half full :D

Thank you for dropping by my friend :)
  • Mary,
I was going to say that media is overrated or that it's spoken too much about it here but then I though that really many people get influenced by it. I have never followed fashion trends and advertisement has zero effect on me.
We know you like doing silly stuff like dancing in your office with some songs, no? :D

Btw, be a responsible girl and go to vote this Sunday ;)
  • How I wish everyone especially me have the luxury to live a life that I want to be remembered. Yet, sometimes circumstances only allow us to live a life more responsibly, and not what we want to be. However, no matter what, live a life without regret.

  • "It feels so good to our mind and body to free from inhibitions once in a while"--- Of course! I totally agree with that! I love to do silly stuff for not reason and I believe we all should 'free ourselves' more often. The only thing that I wonder is how much are we 'influenced' about what we consider a 'life experience'... I don't know how to explain it with other words, but you know... sometimes we want something just because we have seen it in some social site, movie, or whatever (the classic: "monkey see, monkey do")

"Is enjoying or having fun incompatible with responsibility?" --- Well it shouldn't be... There are so many different ways to 'understand' what is fun as people in the world. That's the thing: there are many different ways to 'have fun'... but it seems that the media always shows the same 'kind'. And that's exactly what grabs my attention and makes me wonder...

  • ... and I like your reply Lve.

That's the point! How we manage every factor around us. I'm sick and tired of listening people telling whoever you can't do this, you won't be able to make that thing... many will finally believe they can't because of their circumstances but only you can manage them to make it possible.
Perhaps someone brand us to be selfish but we deserve to be happy whenever we don't hurt anyone.
Keep on loving yourself and your life :)
  • Nice quote just for men,

Well, I would tell you the same as Mary. Surely I,d change some things in my past with my actual wisdom hehe...
Then surely mid age is the perfect time :D
  • Hi my neighbor,

I agree with your parallel comment but hmmm... how to say, don't you think we have to let ourselves go? I mean It feels so good to our mind and body to free from inhibitions once in a while and I believe you also do or have done.
I'm not talking about doing 'balconing' in Mallorca and you're right that only the video doesn't show us other values, that's why I mentioned them in the writing.
Yes, the guy we see in the video is living to the fullest although he has his father also in mind and he's proud of him and his advices. Is enjoying or having fun incompatible with responsibility?

Everyone has his her own concept of living to the fullest regardless our society tell us and depending on our age, not necessarily the activities of the video, for instance the Pan-American route in Harley, loosing yourself in Tibet, a cruise around the world... oh my! Now it's me who is thinking out loud haha...
