Hello everyone!I want to talk about "ballet."Do you know ballet? Most people image volleyball. But it means dancing.

carols

Whether you are studying English in a foreign country, or on your own at home, listening to music is a great way to practice your skills! You can find English music stations online, or listen to English music on sites such as YouTube.

Many people (regardless of religion) sing holiday songs during the month of December. These songs are also known as carols. One fun way to practise writing is to adapt (change) the lyrics of a carol (or other popular song). When you adapt lyrics, you keep some of t

The information was so excellent and impressive that I wrote an Email to Mr.Josef Essberger, the founder of EC. Although my writing was not so good, he kindly read it and humbly responded. I could not imagine one day I can easily interview him, and as usual he accpetd my request right away and humbly responded. Here is the interview:

Honey Bee is Disappearing.

Once I received a newsletter from English club that talks about our environment problems mainly species that are meant to disappear. One newsletter was about the Polar Bear. The second one was about the Disappearing Honey Bee. These two newsletters marked me most. They made me think a lot about our environment and the problems we are creating ourselves to this planet. What pushes me to talk about the Honey Bee is that this little creature is so familiar to me since I am from the countryside. It li

My book's Cover. I need your help!

My friends! I am going to have my grammar book published very soon. However, I have problems with design of the cover page. I have a few ideas and I've made a few drafts. I'd like you all to tell me which one is better and how to change the design. Please, don't pay attention to the text. It is in Russian (my name, name of the book "English Grammar in Use", place and time of publication). I mean design only. I have found a few nice pictures but I don't know what else I can do. community

I received a great question today from a new MyEC member:
"How can I join this community?"

Community is so important in life. When you feel like you are part of something, you thrive. To thrive means to live well and grow. It is not enough to join a club such as MyEC. To become part of the community you must greet, meet, participate, and support one another. This is true for learners and teachers.

Here are 25 ways to become part of EnglishClub.com's growing community:

1. Welcome at least one new

I know most of the members here are English learners. Some of them may come here from all over the world just for improving their English skills. So, here come my questions:
1. Learners should only read the blogs by native English speakers? Learners want to learn standard English (AmE or BrE). They read and learn, but, if what they read is full of grammar, spelling or expression mistakes, what's the point of reading such blogs? Maybe you don't care who the blogs are by. Maybe you just want to com

Second, my friends can know what kind of life they will have while living overseas. Here is one of my stories. One sunny morning in Vancouver, Canada, I decided to dye my hair. In fact, the weather made me do so. A sunny day in Vancouver is so nice because all the streets are decorated with various colorful flowers. The sunlight reflects in shiny store windows

Game 2: Don't Say "Yes" or "No"

yes

In this game I will start by asking a yes/no question about your country. The first person to read it will answer the question in the comment section. The trick to this game is that you CANNOT use the words "yes" OR "no" in your answer. After answering the question, write a yes/no question (not a "wh" question) using "in your country" for the next person. (In your answer don't forget to tell us what your country is.)

no

Example:Q: Do people celebrate Mother's Day in your country?----------------A: M
