Light bulb moment is a burst of inspiration. It is something you get out of a moment which you previously had not realized before. An occurrence where you feel like saying “Eureka!” because it finally dawns on you the possibilities it can give. Perhaps upon perusal of my adventures, you may yourself examine your personal experience and share your very own “ohhs” and “aahhhs” moments!
Stuck in traffic I was hostage to the tedious ruminations of my dreary mind repeatedly musing on the most mundane of things like my shoes, my bag and other cars. Whereupon my fingers settled on a story on Wattpad, “Hmm ‘No Capes’ let me see…” 30 minutes in and I’m still glued to the words, my eyes hypnotized to the text like a charmer’s snake. “What! Is it my stop already? Darn! Time indeed flies when you’re spellbound.
Yard sale finds are …hello money saved! My fascination for yard sales have gone from a mere obsession to becoming my economic backup. With imagination and a little bit of DIY artistry, one can truly create treasures from among the ruins. More advantageously, it can extend the life span of one’s money. My eyes beam with pride over my lavish porch furniture and my well-endowed purse!
Chores are Fitness! I was soaked in perspiration when I realized “hey some people go through a lot of exercise, jogging and costly gym memberships to get this amount of sweat out of the body! Not only do I lose unwanted calories from such a workout but I also get the productive outcome of clean clothes, clean dishes and dinner done for a happy belly-satisfied family!” Quite a rewarding consequence indeed!
A walk home from an evening stroll found me in the midst of a downpour, at first I made an effort to hide but then I stopped, pausing for a moment and then I allowed myself to feel the dampness of the rain. Flickers of childhood games under the drizzling water flashed through my thoughts and instantly almost spontaneously I smiled, beholden to the gift of a sudden unbridled joy. An unexpected boon from an unrestrained act.
So what say you? Can you ponder upon your own Light bulb moments or better yet can you challenge yourself to revamp and redesign uneventful times into encounters that bring on this Eureka effect? Go on and give it a try, take your moments to the next level and discover the extraordinary in the ordinary!
