Lifelessons

Teaching preschool has taught me the best lessons in life.  As one author puts it “Everything I needed to know in life I learned in Kindergarten.”    First of all you’ve got your best teachers in the kids themselves.  Kids are candid and spontaneous, so you know that when they speak they always speak the truth. Kids like fun so you end up being a fun person yourself working with them day in and day out.  Kids are very transparent when it comes to expressing their feelings and they are not afraid to put it out there for everyone to see.  And if ever you reject what they have to offer they may pout, cry a little or a lot, but they won’t hold a grudge because kids are forgetful and most times they just forget what they were mad at in the first place.  If however they do remember it, it won’t be a big deal because all you need do is offer them a truce preferably in the form of a chocolate at which point they would quickly shake your hand and accept your peace offering.     It would be nice and refreshing to be with people who tell the truth in all these dimensions. Truth in feelings, truth in expressing their dreams, truth in saying what they want.    Adults live their lives with a lot of masks.   I think if we all think like kids and take away our masks we would be as happy as they are.   If we risk to put our dreams, our visions, our opinions out there for the world to see and even criticize… then maybe just maybe one day someone would offer us chocolates! :)

  • Well, since I don't like chocolates, I guess I won't take any risks. :D :D
