The Bible is the number one best seller of all times according to Guinness.
https://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/world-records/1/best-selling-book-of-non-fiction
It has been translated into more than 2000 languages and dialects.
No other book has influenced the English language like the Bible.
In major languages such as Chinese, English and Spanish, there are usually several versions to choose from. Many like the more contemporary versions.
Having English and your native language together is helpful in learning English. There are many free useful software apps:
http://www.crosswire.org/applications.jsp
and web tools:
https://unbound.biola.edu/
in which you can view whole chapters in parallel using your native language and English.
I like to teach English using the latter because I can have English on one side of the page and the native language of the person I am tutoring on the right. If there is a doubt of what a word or verse means, we can look at the version in their language.
For those of you who want to learn English with the Bible, there are apps on multiple platforms that will have English and your language for free download. On the Android platform, I like "And Bible":
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.bible.android.activity
If your native language isn't on "And Bible", try "Bible.is":
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.faithcomesbyhearing.android.bibleis
Probably the most popular apps for Bible reading is "YouVersion":
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sirma.mobile.bible.android&hl=en
They claim that it is on more than a million devices worldwide.
The two later apps have audio versions of the Bible in English for offline listening that would be helpful for ESL students.
Probably the best English version for beginners would be the "Bible in Basic English" (BBE):
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bible_in_Basic_English
You can view it online here:
http://www.o-bible.com/bbe.html
All of the above mentioned apps should have "Bible in Basic English" (BBE)
If BBE is too advanced for your level of English, try out this web site for a very simple English translation:

The Bible has influenced our world more than any other book. The word Bible in English comes from the Latin “biblia” which means “book.”
To be truly educated in this modern world, one should at least have some basic knowledge of the Bible’s contents, as well as the men who wrote them.
Written over a period of 1,600 years by at least forty different authors, its contents are considered by Christians to be inspired by God. The authors who wrote this Book were directed by Him in their thoughts and ideas.
So in summary, not only can you learn English from this Book, but in addition, you can also be acquainted with one the greatest books ever written.

YouVersion
YouVersion has 38 versions of the English Bible. One of them is the King James Version. It uses many words that aren't in common use today such as Thee and Thou. For someone learning English I would recommend one of the other versions. The ESV or NASV would be good choices.
Listening to the Bible is also available in many versions of the Bible in YouVersion.
I am so glad that you are using a one year reading plan! My wife and I are on one also, and have used different ones to read through the Bible in a year.
Yes, I'm trying to attached with one year reading plan.
