We went to Mathura last Sunday via NH24 highway, which connects Delhi and UP. We visit Mathura every year in the month of Kartik to light a lamp.

Mathura is situated in the banks of river Yamuna. Mathura is the birth place of Lord Krishna.

We left the home early in the morning at 6.30am. It takes 4 hours from our home to reach Mathura by car. We reached Mathura at 10am. We parked our car near to one ghat of Yamuna River and went straight away to the Mathura Market. We then went for the darshan of Dwarka Dhish. In between the market, there is a temple called Dwarka Dhish. It is a very old temple with traditional handmade paintings. There was no crowd in the temple on that day, so we enjoyed the darshan peacefully. We showed the idols of God and Goddess to our daughter. She felt so glad and happy.

Immediately, after our darshan, the temple was closed. We felt glad and excited that we reached there on time and had a wonderful darshan.

After our darshan, we did go for boating in the Yamuna River in a big boat.

There were a lot of monkeys, chattering and tried to snatch our things. We stayed vigilant and aware of our surroundings.

We took a priest with us to tell us about the ghats. My daughter did boating for the first time. We enjoyed it a lot. We reached one ghat through boat where the Yamuna temple is situated. We visited all the ghats of the river and seen many temples over there. We even took clothes to take bath in the Yamuna River, but we shunned after seeing the water of river being so dirty.

After enjoying the ghats through boat, we went for lunch, as we had nothing for the last so many hours. Fried foods like puri, lassi, Kachodi etc. etc are available on each and every shop. We had cold drink and soda water. We asked one of the shopkeepers for any good restaurant nearby. The shopkeeper guided us that there was a Highway Mall at a distance of 2 km away from here, where we can find Domino’s and Pizza Hut. We then decided to go over there.

We bought some famous sweets (Peda) from Mathura.

After a drove of 2 km, we found the Highway Mall on the road. We parked the car over there. We ordered Pizza from Pizza Hut for everyone. We enjoyed a lot, refreshed ourselves, and then we came back to Delhi via the same route. We reached home at around 6.30 pm.

We enjoyed the last Sunday as a whole.
