Keep your memories

They were surely the most exciting and romantic days of his existence. The three weeks of his honeymoon through the Far East made him recharge the batteries willing to start a new promising life. Positivism was in everywhere he saw or planned. He was highly motivated with lot of projects in mind so he was feeling like conquer the world. But he was unaware that the word will suddenly swallow him in one mouthful. As the plane was descending he was watching the small orange light points of Madrid while thinking on his parents who will collect them at the airport. He was looking forward to seeing them so as friends, coworkers and rest of the family....The sliding doors opened. There they were, standing in the arrivals hall among dozens of people in the same situation, he loves that sensation of meeting someone who is waiting for you after a long trip and appreciates it. The four, wife, husband and parents hugged each other and in their way to the car parking chatted about the tiresome journey since the check out of the hotel, however he noticed something was wrong and it wasn't the jet lag. His sixth sense is developed enough to know somehow that his parent's faces hid something. But how to tell subtly your own son after his honeymoon that his lifelong friend was dying?- I'm afraid we'll have to postpone the way home, said his father finally. - we'll go to hospital first....All his lively spirit and joyfulness finally collapsed in seconds when watching that horrific view in the waiting room of the intensive care unit. He hardly believed his family and common friends telling the accident he suffered some hours before. That night was long. He couldn't help recalling the moments they shared from the childhood when they rode their bikes heading to the park for playing football to the last remember of him when shouting in his own wedding party -"que se besen, que se besen...!" (kiss the bride, kiss the bride...) he was the soul of the party everywhere he went.Consciously he visited the fateful place next day. Why and what for? It won't give any peace of mind but just the opposite. Among rest of cristal and metals he found a rewritable cd of his favourite groups Mecano and Rem and holding it stayed there for a while asking God and himself why. The denial phase was overcome but not yet the anger one...Days, months, years... passed and the wound healed but knowing that it will never disappear. He will keep in his mind the image of his young face for life and will be grateful for have been an important character in his life. Shiny happy people are never forgotten.https://youtu.be/Zf46el_Z6Fw

It's a very uncomfortable feeling that only time will apart from you, then we'll see it from other perspective although they'll always Be missed.

Thank you dear. God bless you.
  • Elen!
That's it. We're never ready for that.

So glad to see you. Thanks for your comment. :)
  • Hello Estanis,

So true, shiny happy people are never forgotten.

A few weeks ago, I heard that one of my friends died. I couldn't believe that. I didn't like to omit her number on my contact list. I cannot forget her smiling face.

  • So pity to happens such incidents. Naturally or not, we lost adorable persons of our life and we are never prepared for that. We can't do anything but only to keep our memories as you say...

  • Hi April,

...and what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger, although thinking it twice, if this saying works I guess we both should be sort of super heroes now, right?

It's always a pleasure reading from a wise woman, thank you.
  • When I read your story, an old saying popped up in my mind "memories can warm you up from the inside, they also tear you apart". Whatever it is,  memories make you the man you are today.

  • My friend AG,

'Great torture' how well you describe it. Well no one here will give you any lesson about this. Yes, that's life and no option is given but accept it in these cases. At least if we're here let's enjoy life too.

Thank you my friend for your reply. Stay blessed :)
  • Hi Bet,
Thank you for dropping by. Glad to see you again :)
  • Thank you for dropping by dear Evangelina. It's always a pleasure to read your comments.

That's what doesn't fit in my mind, but who are we to judge when our beloved must leave? We're not the ones who dictate the rules. And I guess neither to state what's right or what's not. At least I think we have the right to be upset, but who to blame or fight with?
Let's say it's based on real story.
  • Rosemary, oh my, that's really moving. That's what I call real love towards his daughter. I can imagine her and her thoughts.
Thank you very much for sharing your story. I do appreciate.
