Just thoughts!

With the end of every year, every holiday ,and occasion people exchange the wishes for a happy year which makes me wonder and ask the question of whether happiness is depends on the demand of holidays and occasions? Why they focus only on wishing happiness in these occasions? Do they think that we are not happy enough?

Actually the modern era in which we live makes it easy to believe that money and the accumulation of material things around us are the ones that provide us happiness. But the problem is whatever we own doesn’t seem enough, we still always need more! Then we realise that even the money, and material thinhs, and even our social relationship didn't make us happy, we keep turning in one circle frustrated, unhappy, and scarring our luck!

We all live this life but every one of us lives it in different way and interacts with it differently. There are some people who were able to live it happily not because they have won all what they want but because they dealt with all with wisdom and art, people who gave love, fun, good words, and they participate in achieving the other’s dreams! They are the makers of happiness….! So “the real happiness is what can you give not what you can get.”

I will be grateful if you correct my mistakes ^-^

  • I don't speak English fluently to correct your mistakes...

..your saying is true..but sometimes happiness coincides with helping others in achieving their dreams.

2.sometimes it needs already a happy person to aid people to reach their goals.

3.sometimes the the happiness come after helping the world

  • Marketing/advertising agencies really play on sentimental value of ordinary people and make a lot of money based on these 'occasions'. At the same time, these marketing/advertising agencies also will put play some 'guilty conscience' on people who are too busy to appreciate their love ones on these occasions. Whatever the reasons, sentimental value or to appease guilty conscience, these occasions really generates billions worth of business, and it will not stop, but rather grows.

  • Sister, I am not a teacher nor am I genius in finding out grammatical errors. So
Let me know which ones are correct?

    1) "With the end of every year" or At the end of every year"

2). "which makes me wonder" or which make me wonder as "wishes" is plural form, right?

3). "happiness is depends on the demand  Or "happiness depends on the demand"

    4). "material thinhs"or material things

5). "didn't make us happy" or "don't make us happy"

6).  "people who gave" or "people who give"

Thank for sharing your nice thought.

  • Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us, Saly!

People's greed is like a bucket without bottom. You can never fill it. So one need to learn how to be satisfied with what he/she has in order to feel happy.

  • Good writing!

As for correction, can you fix this sentence:"...whether happiness is depends on the demand of holidays and occasions..."? Tip: There's a common mistake in it. You should say "one thing depends on another", not "one thing is depends on another". The word "depend" is a verb, too.
