The title of this blog gave me the idea of making my next discussion. It is about adornments and ornamentations for women.
My wife wanted a pearl necklace for her birthday as a gift. Necklaces may have been one of the earliest types of adornment worn by women.
It was too expensive for me. I told her a watch would do. she was not convinced, but we went to a jewelry shop. Outside, by the left side of the door, displayed on a cupboard, there were earrings, bracelets, necklaces, hairpins, tiaras, cornets, and watches.
My wife pointed to one glimmering watch. There was a small paper attached to that watch written on it, this number 140,611. I thought it was the serial number of it, or some sort of a code number, or something. Then we pushed the door open and asked the man behind the counter about its price.
He smiled briefly and told us that each item had its price attached to it. I said, "Are you serious? One hundred forty thousand and six hundred and eleven riyal!"
I am not good at mathematics, but that was probably close to forty thousand US dollars. Those were the items exhibited on the glassy cupboard for the coming buyer. I did not want to see the inside items and I told my wife to leave that place before I get dizzy or have a heart attack.
The next day, I bought her a pearl bracelet that resembles a diamond for three hundred dollars. My wife loves me, she pretended it was so awesome and beautiful, but she knew that it was fake and she did not want to embarrass me in front of her friends.

Ashukr LILAH ya Samo Yemen! Tamam! I guess you are absolutely right about it. The humans are more valuable than the adornments of life. I really appreciate your nice comment. Thanks, Samo.
Swaagat hai, Marshaa! You are most welcome. Is it possible to be one of your friends? Thanks.
The reaction of your wife when she knew it was fake, showing love and respect ,and I believe that people with such positive attitudes , care much of the moral value of gifts regardless of their price ! Thanks for your nice blogs :)..
very nice, read & enjoyed.
Dvayavaad Marshaa! Thanks for your comment. I still hope to be one of your friends. Sorry for the late reply.
Muchas muchas gracias seniora Sandra. It is a good idea to avoid those valuable items. Honestly, I find it a little bit strange for a woman not to like jewelry. I noticed that some ladies sob or inhale a big amount of air when they see those diamonds. Of course, it is your liking and disliking Sandra, we have to respect that. Thanks for your comment.
Mika nannri Bimal! What a lovely intervention. I really enjoyed reading your explanation and justifications for the difficulties of buying those valuable adornments for ladies. By the way, that story has a rest. I did not want the other readers to know about it.
When that birthday party was over and we were alone, she told me that she knew about that fake bracelet. There was a big show. Of course, I could not defend myself or say anything. To calm her, I said that on the next salary I would buy her something to compensate. Her violence and confrontational activity were over. I hope that the members wouldn't read your comment, Bimal because the comments were about to finish on this blog or at least, I hope so.
I’m happy for your wife because I believe that your wife is an intelligent lady, and she knows well on “what is the real meaning of a practical life”, it is accepted that ladies are so keen on wearing jewelries, but in modern world, the cost of living is so high, so the prices of every item are gone up, so addressing some issues in everyday life is not easy on financial side, so wearing “imitations” or fake jewelries is agreed, and I think it is a good another possibility. At times, I think ladies are talent enough to distinguish “fake jewelries” from “real ones” by just looking at them, but your wife is great because she didn’t raise it as a big issue. Some wives get angry with their husbands when these issues are arisen. I think you are lucky, dear Dara.
Absolutamente corecto, seniora Alejandra. Lately, my wife rides with me or take a taxi when she puts on those precious or rather valuable decorations. Two young men on a motorbike stole the purse of her sister and took away. She tried to run after them but she could not make it. There were a ring and three bracelets of gold plus about sixty dollars in that purse. It is better to be safe, as you mentioned. Thanks, Al for your nice comment.
I like the jewelry, but I don't wear any expensive, I bought a lot of rings, bracelets, necklaces, and those cost no more than $100 USD. I like to do different outfits and for these reason I need different accesories, but I don't like spend much money in jewelry, because I feel insecurity when I go to the any place and a thief could assault me.
Have a nice day! :)
