Myth is  an interesting topic to be told to everyone, although some people  may believe it or not. As an Indonesian, I like it as a part of my cultures.

There is a famous Indonesian myth  that I want to present in this blog

ꦚꦲꦶꦫꦫꦏꦶꦢꦸꦭ꧀
Goddess of the South Sea
Ratu Laut SelatanSamudra Kidul

She is the queen of  South Sea, The beautiful Goddess of the South Sea, and  as called by people

with her popular names as "Nyi Roro Kidul , Kanjeng Ratu Kidul or  Dewi Kadita in Sundanese Folkore.  However, many Indonesian generally know her as "Nyai Roro Kidul. So What makes her special for us?

Nyai Roro Kidul is a beautiful sea Godness who lives in South sea as we believe for her existence. She is described as a beautiful woman with super power to control ocean. She is also the mythical spiritual consort of the Sultans of Mataram and Yogyakarta, beginning with Senopati and continuing to the present day. The Javanese word loro literally means two – 2 and merged into the name of the myth about the Spirit-Queen born as a beautiful girl or maiden, in Old Javanese rara, written as rårå, (also used as roro).  Many people believe she likes  and kidnapes handsome man "hahaha"or people as she wish "when people are wearing green outfit and visiting South Sea, as an example Parang Tritis sea Yogyakarta, many people believe those people will be kidnaped by her.  I don't know exactly why she likes green color, but I will respect it as a part of my historial heritage that I should respect.

On April 6. A memorial day for the locals, offering a lot of ceremonial "presents" to appease the queen. The local fishermen annually send the sedekah laut ceremony, offering gifts and sacrifices, There is also a sacred and mysterious room "308" in  Samudra Beach Hotel, that room is presented for her. Her popularity is also presented in a mobile legend game,as an Indonesian heroin,She is named "KADITA"

My favorite her saying :"  NO ONE HAS THE POWER TO CONTROL THE SEAS, EXCEPT FOR ME"

That is my short blog about her.

Cheer up,share your myth

  •    Myths were a way of giving justification or reasons for many people around the world  , in a time where there wasn't any scientific explanations  of why such natural phenomenon  are happening  .

Today  these mythical history  is related to each nation local culture and celebration only . They don't resemble  that great significant as they were .
