I haven't blogged in a long time.  I am not sure it is even in my realm of possibilities any longer, but here goes.

Everyone seems to be focused on the shootings in the USA.  We also know that gun control is a very controversial subject at the moment.  I do not support it because the gun is not the issue.  Yes, it is a quick way to cause death, no doubt.  The trouble in the USA is certainly more deep seated than just grabbing a gun and killing someone.  The right to carry arms was established in the constitution.  We have always carried guns.  So now that the events and conditions have changed we need to ban them?  Let me think.  I believe then the only people that would have them are.........the government and the crooks.  I find that a little disturbing. 

Please note, the governments that open fire on their people that have no way to protect themselves.  It is like shooting fish in a barrel.How many lives have been lost in this manner?  When we leave a government armed and the people defenseless, is that a good way?  I think it has been proven that is not so. 

Someone said to me, "Look at the guns the USA sells that kills our children".  Now that is something that needs to be banned and taken away.  I do believe that.  I am ashamed that my country deals is such things.  It shows an irresponsibility that mocks what the USA at one time stood for.  As far as I am concerned, as an American, this country has overstepped it's bounds many times over the last decades.  Greed, corruption, and the power hungry are in control.  Sorry to say, but it is what I believe.  They put me in mind of the adage; A wolf in sheep's clothing. I love my country, I love it's people, but I am not blind to what is happening here. 

It is easy to sit in a chat room and spend one's opinion.  It happens everyday.  Some views are good ones, some cruel, and some down right ridiculous.  I certainly have an opinion and we all have a right to that.  I do not applaud tragedies of any kind.  I am like most I would like to see the bad guys fall and the people benefit from that.  I would like to see governments truly care about their people, to make sure that what is needed is there for them.  If they kept busy on this type of thing, instead of who controls this or who can get rich off of that.......and stayed within their borders this world might have a chance.  What if the air was clean?  What is the world's water supply was unsullied?  What if all that we used was environmentally friendly?  What if I respected your religion and you respected mine?  What if there was no harm?  What if we kept from blaming this one and that one and tried to make things right?  Tried to do what was in the best interests of all humans, not just a few? 

So you think gun control is the answer???......Oh my.  I say yes let us ban them, on the condition, that every gun in every port is destroyed.  That every bomb, every missile, every weapon of destruction all around the world is destroyed also. No tanks, No fighter planes, no drones, no military/governmental satelites, no war ships. Then. Then, I might vote for gun control.
