I wish I could

Hi everyone,

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Time flies quickly, doesn't it? We're now at the end of 2012 and it's time for us to make a New Year resolution for 2013. You may say you have never made any of such resolutions, then you're not alone in saying that. In fact, I find it difficult to stick to all the resolutions, too. So, I'd like to use this expression "I wish I could...in 2013."

I wish I could write many more blog posts, say, one post a week in the new year. I did feel like writing something, but only too often I failed to publish one. It's true I have been too busy at the hospital as the head of ICU (intensive care unit), where you'll see critically ill patients. However, I don't think it's a suitable excuse for not writing so much.

I wish I could read every post by our members and leave a comment on them in the coming year. I failed to do so, but managed to leave a comment on some of them. As a blog mod of MyEC, I'm expected to read as many blog posts as possible. I'd appreciate it if you let me know you really want me to comment on your blog/post.

I wish I could save all the lives in my ICU in the year 2013. I wish I could save every patient who is in critical condition. Being a doctor in China can be so demanding, but it can also be so rewarding, especially when you are able to have your patients on their feet again.

So happy to see your comment! I hope you're enjoying your holidays. We're waiting for the Chinese New Year to come - most of the young people here do celebrate Christmas, though. By the way, what is "mod"? That is Jenny's question, too.

Mod is the short form of moderator - someone who is in charge of a discussion and makes sure it is conducted in a fair way. There are a few of such moderators here on MyEC (my. Englishclub.com) - "EC moderators". I'm a blog moderator (mod), so I'm expected to keep an eye on all of the blog posts - I read and usually leave comments on some of the blogs, and also feature some of them.
