I Feel Cheated

Nowadays EC bloggers has been sprouting like mushrooms. This is good news for EC. It means so many members are sharing their views, stories and just anything on earth. I love reading blogs in EC, well except maybe poems. But it peeves me when I read a very interesting blog and found out it's taken from another site(s) and written by someone else without proper citation by EC blogger(s).

When I read a wonderful blog, I would feel amazed that such blogger could come up with fantastic view/writing. But sometimes, a simple word or sentence would trigger something in me which prompted me to check through the wonder of internet about that particular sentence.

It saddened me when my instinct about the blog turned out to be true. It was taken from someone's else writing. I feel cheated. Something too good to be true was really turned out to be a plagiarized work.

Most of us in here are English learners. I don't think anyone expect us to write a perfectly written English blog. We are learners after all, so it's common to make a mistake or two or millions in our blogs, though we should learn from those mistakes. We should not be embarrassed to write a blog in our own words, but we should totally be ASHAMED for taking someone else ideas and writing and presented it as our own work.

Don't cheat your friends and EC members. Be honest! Don't plagiarize!

Cheers.

  •     My dearest friend, really I envy you because, you always, easily, can find a new thought for your new blog. And I admire your thoughts a lot. On behalf of my self I can say; your thoughts are more valuable than gold and silver. Do you know why???? Simply because, they come from God.

Finally my dearest, I thank God that; I am at peace with my humble English, and I always thank God for your lovely friendship. God bless you.

  • Mugen No Kenzen, same goes there :D :D :D

  • Same goes here ... :|

  • Mitran, I think most EC members don't like this blatant breaking of EC rules, except the person who plagiarized. Like you, I hope they will realise their mistake and will never do it again, either in EC or any other forums.

  • Ouch Anele, are you going to hammer me to pieces? LOL Because I always made mistakes?  Uh uh ... should I hide behind a tall bush?

You made a good point about sprouting bloggers, but seemed less commentators. It's indeed a pity. This reminds me of Bala's blog; Commenting is also an Art. It seems some of us are so 'stingy' with our comment. Alas!

Thanks for pointing out the two sentences. I will try my best to correct them, but if I can't, I will knock on your door. :D :D :D Did I ever mention that you're the 'bestest' of best English teachers?

  • Like you, I don't like this action. Hope in EC, they don't do it anymore.

  • Seeker, they may cheat themselves, but definitely cheat other EC members.

  • Fizzy, in this case, it's no longer reasonable doubt, but rather proven.

  • Who cheated you?  Tell me and I will give him a punch that he so well deserve!

Aww...... I think I misunderstood your title, hahaha!

Many bloggers are sprouting, but few commentators are only seen commenting.  What a pity!

We should not be ashamed to commit mistakes.  This is only the time where we can hone our English to perfection -- by making a lot of mistakes.  But if that mistake is committed a hundred times, I think that blogger deserves to be hammered to pieces, ouch!   He doesn't deserve to be called as a "learner".

Oppsss....can you fix the statements below?

**It sadden me when my instinct about the blog turned out to be true.

**but we should totally be ASHAMED for taking someone else ideas and writing and present it as our own work.

  • Reasonable Doubt..
