Many have been fascinated by your beauty, enchanted by your charm, but little they know you buried your ugliest scars, your bloody history. Though you are rich in your culture, abundant in nature and eternally hold that alluring charisma of that Far East, still you are bruised.
Strategically located in the untamed Pacific Ocean, having 7107 islands acquired by chance, by distance or by treaty… yet some colleague starting to bare their fangs to have what you’ve got. This happens over and over again, looks like a never-ending cold war that is about to explode in relation to territorial disputes, for ages.
History reveals you longed for freedom, yearns for it since time immemorial. More than three hundred years of slavery resulted in some reluctance in your character that ironically embracing foreign culture to blend your own. How I wish you act like the “Land of the Rising Sun” or where “Christ the Redeemer “ rooted, they are more self-assured about themselves and not willing to conform to the extent that we humans need to learn their mother tongue in order for us to convey. They just love their own.
On the other hand, your humans are impressive, from singers to boxers, from programmers to inventors, so on and so forth. That cheerfulness that is drawn to their faces and the warmth of their souls to carry out their hospitability to those who are in need and lost. In spite of tremendous natural disaster you’ve had have faced, your people still managed to smile, indeed its fun in the Philippines.
You are blessed with plentiful resources, beautiful and diverse…you should learn to love yourself more…
(This is what I have now… my mind is performing weird today that I can’t extract something sensible to write…)

Dear Zivi, thanks for dropping by your comments here. It was my pleasure actually. There are so many things happening in my country, it is now international news whether we like it or not.
The fight against drug addiction is widely recognized in different part of this globe, but the thing that I’m not sure if they are against the policy or they support it. According to our President Rodrigo Duterte, in the Philippines, we have 3M people who are drug addicts/drug related, and it will destroy the future of our upcoming generation. I couldn’t agree more. He assumed office for about 100 days and counting yet 3000 people are already killed by law enforcers. Well…..
Thanks for reading this Ziv, a smile from here to you.:)
Hello Setareh, wishing you a great morning just like mine. I wish I know Alice, and her blog, can you share that?if possible. Just to add to your vocab, people who are citizens of Philippines are called Filipino(s) in general, but if you want to be specific, Filipina-woman/ Filipino-man. Thanks Setareh, tho I can't consider myself talented at this point, still in my learning stage. I'm glad you enjoyed reading this, that's the second purpose of my writings. A smile from here.
opps sorry, it is Rodrigo Duterte not Raul
What an affectionate desription of your homeland. I am astonished because in this part of the world it are not that positive news we hear.
From Taifuns upto the President Raul Duterte -who is accused to have the police shoot ppl in the public- you seem to miss no part of the hell from what we are told here. When ppl from your country happen to go abroad they are called refugees. I wonder whether it is true.
Anyway it is amazing to read such a report about your country. Thanks for sharing.
