We all have our different ways to study English. Most of the English learners do self-study. For them it is easier and faster. Others join English clubs, like this, to enhance their writing. Others opt for English classes, some do online English learning. So what do you think is the best way to learn English?Feel free to express your thoughts on this topic.Thank you. ^_^
Hi, Sinderallasal!
Nice comment!
Indeed! Seeing English movies is an enjoyable way to learn the English language. And whether you talk to a native speaker or non-native speaker ( who is good in English, of course) does not matter at all. As long as you practice speaking good English, it is effective, I think.
And yes, you're right, we all have our ways. Whatever is suited for you should be your style.
Let's learn from each other then! :-)
Hi, Skoon!
Thanks for your comment.
Yes. Whatever way a learner feels is helpful for him, then he should do it.
I think it will be easier for him to become more confident because he is comfortable with the way he learns English.
Nice thoughts!!!
See you around...
As the other said, all of them are good. but the most important thing is that what is your way to learn?! . becuase we are different and we like different style to learn. some people like to watch moives so the best way for them is to watch english movies. and other like to listen music so this best way for them is to listen music and read lyrics for them. and reading english books such as novles and short stories,, etc to whom who like to read books. and so on
I hope you find your own style to learn english.
Skoon..
Thanks for your comment, Tara.
At first English learners are hesitant to speak or to express their thoughts. That means they are not confident. If they don't understand the language, coming from a native speaker, they will become more hesitant. Non-natives create an atmosphere of understanding, and consideration. They could be patient in delivering the lessons or topics at hand. And based on my experience, English learners want to hear words which are said clearly, and in a pace suited to them.
I haven't met Expectorsmith yet, but I will check his blogs.
Thanks again and I hope we all learn from both native and non-native teachers. ^_^
I agree with Michelle.
It is not necessary to learn English from a native speaker. Many of the world's best teachers have English as a second language. These teachers know how difficult it is to learn the language. Don't underestimate the power of learning from other learners. Remember, the goal of learning a second language is to communicate with the people of the world. Nobody needs to speak or write perfect English. Have you met Expectorsmith? Check out his blog! I think we can all learn English from him and he is not a native speaker. :)
American English Teacher Online,
Definitely!Speaking is the key to confidence and fluency.
But I think the English learners will achieve their goals not only with native speakers but with non-native speakers, too. I think some non-natives, whose English is equally good, are also effective English teachers.
:-)
The essential components from my view to learn Englsh best are: grammar, vocabulary, reading, a motivaton, listening and communicating with at least one native englishman. :)
