Dear Members,As the main aim of all of us is to learn English from one another and to learn more and more about other members' countries, their customs, recipes, social and religious activities and way of celebrating happiness, so I thought that I should ask Muslim members of My E. C. that how they have been celebrating The Eid Al-Fitar or how they are going to do this this year? You can describe the activities of Eid Day regarding to age( Children,Teenagers,Parents, men or women),description of special recipes ,dresses or any other activities which you have on Eid Day.As for as our non-Muslim friends are concerned, the can describe the activities of their Muslim neighbors, colleagues or friends. It will be very informative for all of us.It will provide us opportunity to show our writing skills.Response from all of you will be of value. My heartiest Eid greetings to all Muslim members in advance
Assalaamu'alaikum my friend Amjad! When I was a kid Eid Day was a special day for me because it was the time I could collect lots of money from the elders I visited, even from distant relatives or just neighbors. What a happy day indeed, but now I have to empty my pockets in return. Anyway it is a wonderful day with lots of fun, telling nostalgic experiences with our old friends and so on. Very happy day.
Very good idea and blog ,Amjad Ali
Well over here in Sri lanka we get ready after the obligatory bath , and proceed to the mosque to offer the Eid -ul- fitr prayers.
We have breakfast with the family, and then visit friends relation s
Over here in my adopted town, we send sweet meats to our close and dear ones.,
money or token of gift are given to the little ones.
Usually we cook Biryani and the side dishes. its accompanied with a pudding called vattlapam.and bananas.
There are many sweet meats laid on this festive day, for guests and relations .
I have spent my festival away from my home town , for decades, yet the sweet memoirs of my younger days spent with the family and friends in th e month of Ramadan, will always be nostalgic and precious to me.
