Now what if you hear ''hair'', ''hare'' or dare I say ''Herr'', but you don't know which is which? Have no fear cavalry is here! Bruce Worden, and his blog called Homophones, Weakly, is here to help. Well, you guessed it he's into homophones -  two or more words having the same pronunciation, but different in meanings, origins, or spelling, e.g., peer and pier.

In this series I'll introduce you to different naughty English words sounding similar, but they're actually waaaaaay different.

Here we go!

  • Right...giphy.gif

  • You're too kind, Olga. ^_^

    Feel free.

  • Suuuuuuuuuuuure. :/

"I like", "I am good at", "It's wonderful''

    200.gifThey have nothing in common.

  • Holy Mother of All that is Good and Pure!

Those words are NOT homophones, Ag. 'Cept ''beat'' 'n ''beet'', which are redundant, by the way. Already mentioned by moi.giphy.gif

  • 'Cause he's a narcissist, Roman.

  • Thank you for sharing those words!

I didn't know that some of them has the same pronunciation! :)

No, I knew that some of those words have the same pronunciation, before.

And I like that those pictures always have something interesting except having the same pronunciation! For example the picture of "piece" shows us that we have to respect the nature (peace) and try to save it.

Bear have stolen the clothes of that man or woman and that's why he/she is bare :DDDD

Next one is not that funny :/

Hmmm, that flag has something similar with the finish ribbon.

    About which, just sigh.

I guess, about the exercise it is also somehow connected with which. Or I don't know what is the hidden meaning of that picture of exorcism.

:D I have never seen somebody beating somebody else with a beet!

    Thank you for sharing!

  • Hi A738a!

Why is that man with a heart over his head, looking at himself in the mirror, vain?
