HEALTH, BE IT YOUR FIRST LOVE

HOW TO TAKE CARE OF HEALTH?

"Health is better than wealth" is a very apt saying. Health of the body is essential for us, for without it, our life will be a burden both to ourselves and to other family members and friends. So we should take a great care of our health, and to secure a sound mind in a sound body it is very important to follow the general rules. There is a very close connection between the body and mind, and both are interdependent. It the body is not sound, our mind cannot work properly.

The main aspect to maintain a good health depends on moderation in eating and drinking, proper exercise of all the organs, and sanitary surroundings. We cannot be too careful in the matter of diet. We should eat only wholesome food, which may be easily digested, and provide nourishment to the body. We should not stuff the stomach with all sorts of things. Our clothes should be light and neat, and according to the season, so that they may protect us from the inclemencies of the weather. Our living should be balanced. Our houses should be well-lighted and well-ventilated. We should breath plenty of fresh air. Recreation and physical exercise are very conducive to health.

We should altogether abstain from smoking, over-spiced delicacies, and other intemperate habits. We should not fritter away our energy, our vital powers in frivolous pursuits, but should train us to the right and proper intakes. Drinking wine and spirituous liquours should be shunned. Extreme access to the pornographic literature also has deleterious effect on the health of our mind resulting in decadence of physical health.

A cheerful outlook on life, hopefulness and contentment are also useful for health. A sullen and sour man falls as easy pray to diseases, while a cheerful man who tries to laugh away the worries of life is a proof against a great many ailments which affect us. A due and proper observance of the rules of health is necessary for the preservation of health.
