You're very sweet, but I'm afraid not all the kids have the same values and good intentions... Some kids can be damn cruel too!
'Piñata' is a spanish word and there is not any english translation. It's very popular in Mexico and now it's becoming popular in the US as well... but they write it and pronounce it as 'pinyata' :)
The dictionary.com says about it: "In Spanish literally "jug, pot," ultimately from Latin pinea "pine cone," from pinus"... So the word comes from the word 'pine'... but don't ask me why :D Probably because the original shape of these papier-mâché figures were a pine cone shape?
