Hand Hygiene

I went to picnic with my friend and her children. We found a nice place and settle down. My friend took the snacks box and gave it to her little three year old. The little one refused to get it and said 'Mummy I want to wash my hands first'. I was so shocked and surprised to see that. I asked her why do you need to wash your hands? The little one says ' germs in it'. She washed her hands and then started to eat. My friend told me she was aware of hand hygiene and taught her children too.

Our hands are exposed to all sort of germs and dirt. Washing hands properly is one of the most important things we can do to help prevent and control the  spreading of many illnesses. We always ask children to wash their hands. But we adults often forget to wash our hands. By washing our hands we can reduce the risk of getting diarrhoea, respiratory infections, skin infections and so on.

Keep hands healthy

Like our face, our hands function as bridge to the world. We probably have a daily routine to keep our face clean and moisturized. But what about our hands? We shake hands when we greet people. Our hands express the affection to our loved ones specially children. Washing hands can help us prevent passing on nasty viruses and bacteria. If any cuts or graze in hands, always cover with a water proof plaster. Take a good care of hands and finger nails. Develop a good routine and give your hands a good helping hand.  Friends take a good care of your hands and keep your family healthy!
