Hajj season during corona virus

A week ahead and we will start Hajj for this year twenty-twenty which is correspondent to fourteen hundred forty-one, of Alhijrah. Alhijrah means emigration. It is an important historic event for Muslims. Prophet Muhammad emigrated from Mekkah to Madinah. This event was taken as the start of the Hijri calendar or the Arabic calendar.

The term (Alhijrah) has many meanings. Here, space is not enough for it now. During the past seasons, the number of pilgrims exceeded two million Hjjis. Pilgrims (hajjis) used to come from different parts of the world to perform Hajj.

This year, only the residents and the citizens of Saudi Arabia can perform Hajj and that is due to the circumstances of COVID 19. You might say that it is a fair assessment of the situation. We could be hopelessly inaccurate about it but coronavirus dictated its conditions on Hajj this year 2020. There are dire Hajj conditions.

There are many unprecedented measures to be taken before performing Hajj. the authorities want to emphasize the implementation of those necessary measures to ensure the safety of those pilgrims including providing protective face masks, and sterilization equipment and also conducting preliminary thermal checks.

We will talk in detail about the rituals of Hajj in the hard time of the pandemic.

    • Ana ahib Elikwuait! Mashkoora ya Haya! I hope next time, you will be able to go there,. Thanks for your nice and sincere feelings,.

  • It is good news for the citizen as less crowded.

    • Fizzy, saya tidak tahu, tetapi some people are dreaming to come here. When I was in my country I was dreaming to visit the holy city and see the house of Allah. Thanks, Fizzy for your comment.

  • Nice presentation but it's hard to say that not all the muslims can do this riyual especilly for the one who is waiting his chance many times by the way this Allah's want we have to accept it

    • Miziyan Djamel Sahraoui! Ana ma kanaarifsh aalash? It is the will of Allah. It is true that some people wait their turn for a long time. In my country and yours, we do like that. Thanks, Djamel for your nice comment on Hajj during this hard time.

  • Very well explained by rys.

As for corona and hajj, it shows our creator does not need any of our actions based mostly on our hypoccracy. Avoid, get rid of hypocricy from our life everything from the Nature will be back to normal.

    • Shukriya Mishaikh sahib! Hamari pas aik kahavaat hain! (Each disease has a medicine). As a matter of fact, it is Hadeeth narrated by Gabir, Prophet Muhammad, (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Each disease has a drug if it hits the disease, the person will recover with God willing". Our problem nowadays is hypocrisy. We do not do things for the sake of Allah. We do it so that people will see us. I hope that this pandemic will be lifted soon from us all.

By the way, you have been to Hajj before. Now, it is totally different. I meaning regarding the new protective measures and social distance.  That is the main reason why the number of pilgrims would be so small compared to the time of your performance to Hajj and mine. The number would be in thousands and they would follow the rules by the authorities. Thanks, Mishaikh for your comment.

  • Oi folks

When presenting an important historically event, one should take heed to use the appropriate words for the given even. In English, moving from one place to another place can be described as: travelling, migrating, emigrating or immigrating - all depends on the aim and duration of that moving action. Here is what uncle google has to say about the Hijra of Prophed Mohammad [PBOH]:

Prophet Muhammad came to Medina following the migration of his followers in what is known as the Hijra (migration to Medina) in 622. He had been invited to Medina by city leaders to adjudicate disputes between clans from which the city suffered. He left Medina to return to and conquer Mecca in December 629.

    • Yeilkie jeinki Mr. Ryspersky! The topic is concentrating on Pilgrimage during this hard time of COVID 19. I am trying to tell the reader about the different situations of Hajj from the previous years. When I mentioned the term (hijrah) it is just for the sake of giving the reader a small background of it. I was not going to enter into historic events. Nevertheless, thanks for giving the reader extra information about Hijrah. I really appreciate that kind of help. Thanks, Rysperski for your comment.

  • Thanks for sharing the event. Quite interesting. Is Hajj an yearly event? What does 20-20 mean exactly? I don't quite understand
