My personal attachment to this book is special,I almost read the whole book with my friends in the evenings at a summer camp,when I was 11 years old.(of course on Hungarian)

    thank you for the nice picture,Kassel looks such a fairylike and extraordinary town

    I don't wonder,why the Grimm brothers had a wide imagination,living in a surrounding,like this!

    I adore German cities,some of them(or rather many!) are magical,really!

    I agree with you,that in english,it is still readable for grown-ups too!:)

  • Thank you all,my friends for your comments so far.

    Imagine,that in the beginning,the Grim brothers didn't specifically aimed their books to children,and the stories were cruel and not so fairy like.Later,as they noticed,that children are interested in the stories,they softened and reshaped the stories for children.

    @Valentine-good choice,I also love those stories,especially Rapunzel:))

    @Rafal-My pleasure,if you find it useful to share,do it please!

    @Nida-You are welcome,dear!

    @Ramona,Nafis,Atika and Karenina:This kind of storybook was one of the most popular storybooks for children in my country,when I was young,and still...I think,every children had one copy of it on their shelves..(we had 2-one for me and the other for my brother...:))

    Have a nice time while reading!
