Hi, everyone! Here is one more grammar test for you to master your skills. I have to admit borrowing two last sentences from the blog of one EC member. I have corrected her sentences a little for you to see grammar mistakes. I believe you know what to do! Just correct ALL the mistakes and make the sentences correct and understandable.
Here is your task.
- Having eaten outside, we realized we might have gotten wet as the rain had been about to start.
- Hardly we served dinner in out of door restaurant than began T-storm.
- If I am he, I would find a better job long ago.
- I didn’t ever see him and don’t want to see.
- I couldn’t help to recall the day where I confessed that I love her.
- When we cut off at the Skype conference, my colleagues called later and said blackout was because the T-storm was.
- Anybody of the two partners wanted to be responsible to take puppies’ poops away and they were about to break while a pet-sitter showed off. (Hahaha!)
- Having washed my puppies, I never know who is dirty, yet as I can’t tell them one from other hardly.
- Three years back I was witnessed of a funny situation, then I was in front of my office and three beggars had been asking for money on the road but suddenly got very quickly into the car.
- I saw there were little cuts on his hands and face, maybe intentionally he did it because he seemed to me fit like a fiddler!
The deadline is the end of May if I am able to survive for so long! Hahaha!

Thanks a lot, sir ....and sorry to make you disappointed
Bet, it is so easy!
"Three years ago I witnessed a very funny situation, I was in front of my office, I saw three disable beggars asking for money on the road but then a car __ arrived and they got into the car very quickly!"
Then...I was in front...a car was reached or a car was driven ....
Dear! What are you doing?!
Here is your previous sentence:
"Three years ago I witnessed a very funny situation, I had been in front of my office, I saw three disable beggars asking for money on the road but then a car had been arrived and they got into the car very quickly!"
You should try to correct only two tenses and change the voice in the last clause.
Three years back I had been witched a funny situation, I was in front of my office there I saw three beggers had been begging for money on the road but then suddenly a car had been drove there and they get into in so wuickly
Hi, dear Bet! 10 is correct now. I would make the same corrections.
9. Oh, no! You are not right! A car can't run itself but your verb is ARRIVE! TO ARRIVE is the same as TO COME. Also, the past perfect tense is incorrect in both clauses.
okay...10. I saw some cuts on his face and hands, maybe he had made them intentionally to get money from the people but he looked healthy.
9.Three years ago I witnessed a very funny situation, I had been in front of my office, I saw three disable beggars asking for money on the road but then a car had been ( as a car can not drive itself, right?) arrived and they got into the car very quickly! oh....is it okay now?
I will try others later!
Hi, dear Bet! I have got some free time to reply.
1. As I said "we were eating" is OK. "having eaten" makes sense, too but you should realize what both mean.
a) we were eating and saw the clouds thickening.
b) we had alredy eaten when we saw them.
2. Your sentence "No sooner had dinner was served for us in an outdoor restaurant then the t-storm began". You see, HAD WAS SERVED is nonsence! It is the passive perfect tense, yes, but the form of the verb is wrong. The other option is wrong.
5. CONFESSED TO loving...
6. I will correct this sentence as it is the best:"We had been disconnected, after that one of my colleagues called and told me there had been a blackout because of the T-storm." It should be like this "After we had been disconnected during the Skipe conference, __one of my colleagues called and told me there had been a blackout because of the T-storm."
7. .....
8. Dear, why "AFTER washing"? Do you really think I am blind? I can easily tell dry hair from wet!
9. Hahaha! It is much better! But
a) we witness SOMETHING (no preposition!);
b) the past perfect tense is incorrect there.
10. I have got your idea at last. You should have said "He looked healthy"
Okay, sir, here is my secound attempt!
1. When we were eating outside / having eaten outside we realized we might get wet as the rain was about to start.
2. No sooner had dinner was served for us in an outdoor restaurant then the t-storm began./Hardly served dinner for us in an out door restaurant T-storm began.
3.4..was okay...lol
5.I couldn’t help recalling the day when I had confessed loving her/ I loved her/ about my love for her.
6.We were disconnected/we got disconnection on/in the midst of a skype conference, later my colleagues called me again and told there was black out due to T-storm!
During/in a skype conference we had got cut off/ we had been disconnected, after that one of my colleagues called and told me there had been a blackout because of the T-storm.
7.....
8. After washing my puppies/after giving a wash to my puppies, I never know which of them is dirty, as hardly can I distinguish/separate them one from another./as I can not differentiate my puppies yet!
9.Three years ago I witnessed of a very funny situation, I had been in front of my office, I saw three disable beggars asking for money on the road but then a car had arrived and they got into the car very quickly! oh....
10.I saw some cuts on his face and hands, maybe he had made them intentionally to get money from the people but he seemed to be swindler ( but really I wanted to mean he did not look sick due to his cuts)
Dear Bet, it is so nice to hear from you again! Let's see what you have written.
1. MUST is incorrect. "When we were eating outside... is not bad.
2. Let me say again that if we start a sentence with HARDLY, there must be the inversion. If you don't know how to invert, you should start with the subject. The tense in the first clause is wrong. THAN is wrong.
3. Correct.
4. So-so. I surely meant something different.
5. Dear, my sentence is in the past tenses. I mean that! CONFESS is OK but your sentence is not.
6. CUT OFF is correct, but DISCONNECTED is correct, too. However, the tenses are wrong and articles are missing. And I tell you, BECAUSE is much better in this sentence than DUE TO.
7. Haahha! Let me explain the sentence. Those people didn't want to take poops away and they quarrelled so badly that were about to part. They were waiting for a pet-sitter but he was late.
8. Look, it is an incorrect construction in general. A personal pronoun must follow the appropriate noun but not vice versa! Besides, in your sentence I washed myself! So, this sentence is VERY incorrect!
9. Dear! You know you should correct MY sentences! Anyway, 'three years back", why? What THEN is doing there? SEE must be followed by the infinitive. And the end is just unbelieavable!
10. Again, why to use THERE WERE after SEE? MAYBE is a single word. "...healthy insted of sick" is incorrect for sure!
Will you try again, please?
