Voice blog #9: Train station

Hello everyone,

How are you doing? I hope everything is going well with you.

This time I would like to share you some pictures of our train station with you. Train is one of the major public transportation here, especially for students and commuters. It is also a good alternative for travelers to take a trip around the island because its convenience and different scene abailable along the track. I am used to watching various people come and go when waiting for the train arrives. You can see some people rush to the train station just few seconds before the train leaves, while some are as cool as a cucumber. In addition, a lot of sights of seeing friends off and welcome the arrivals is like a movie keeps playing there.

What is the main public transportation in your country? Do you go to school or work by bus or subway? If you have a chance, would you like travelling by train? I hope to know about your experience. See you next time.

  • @ Irina. Glad to see your presence here and gave a nice praise on my voice. It made me shy but did inspire me a lot. Thanks a bunch, my dear friend. Yeah, I agree with you that cars produce poisonous air and harm our surroundings too. If most of people could take public transportation as possible as they can or by walk, the pollution and traffic jams are likely to be eased. Btw,I like metro too. ^^

  • @Junko. I am so sure you know our train system very well. Have you ever taken the Pinxi line from Taipei? I love this line a lot as it is full of abundant and fantastic mountain scene and attractions available like waterfalls, pathway and old town, etc.  Hope your wish of taking by train in Europe would come true very soon. :)  I appreciate to have your support as usual.

  • @Galina. Thanks a lot for sharing the nice experience of taking by train and liking my English, which is big inspiring for me. I'm glad and enjoy reading your comment each time. Here we don't have trolleybus. I only took it once when I was in Poland. The ground are full of tracks in some areas and it's no pollution for the environment. I like it.

It's interesting to know that you and Tara have the same taste of walking. After all, our feet (here we call bus 11 means we have two legs) is the best transportation.

  •  Hello My dear !! Oh!!!! I admire by your blog and photos. Your voice is very sweet and majestic.

My city is crowed by transports. I like trains very much and I wish that there were more trains

and less cars, really. I think the world would be a cleaner and much nicer place.

But I prefer a metro. It's much quicker especially at rush hour when there are big traffic jams.

Thank you for your wonderful information!!!!!!!!

  • @Tara. It must be delightful taking their train system to browse the continent's landscape. Hope I could also visit there soon. :)  Walking with your kids no matter where you go seems a wonderful moment. I'd definitely do the same if I were a mom too.

A special thanks for correcting my mistakes as usual. I wouldn't notice this kind of mispronunciation if you don't tell. I'd keep it in mind and practice more. Thank you.

  • Hello, Grace!

What wonderful photos! Looking at them I feel like I myself have arrived in your place...Hope it'll happen some day ( just kidding). I like your train station, Grace....everything is so modern and nice. Here in Saratov a lot of people also use train to get to work. But I go to work by trolleybus in the morning, and I prefer to walk after classes....just to unwind and relax. I don't live far away from my school. It usually takes me about 40 min to get home. I like to walk.  There's no subway in my city. So, I travel by train rather seldom (maybe two or three times a year). I usually go to different cities to visit my relatives. I enjoy travelling by train. I like the relaxing atmosphere in the train, talking with people, looking through the window and watching places we're passing by. Sometimes we invent different games to entertain us.

Grace your voice recording is great! I love your English. Thanks for sharing...

  • Very interesting! Thanks for the excellent post and photos! I recently went to New York City, and the train system seems very similar. We really enjoyed the transit there. I live in a suburb, and most people drive, walk or take city buses. I used to walk everywhere with my kids and their stroller. Now they are older and we have a second car. We still walk to school and to the local shops.

Be careful with the pronunciation of the words "main" and "men"

Tip: "I would like to share you share some pictures with you."
