Voice blog #16: Word Cloud - A small trip

Hello everyone,

This blog is inspired by Tara's post - Word Cloud. I recently did a small trip to a rural county next to my city. A different landscape and culture from my living place was new and worth to learn for me. There are nine words, including Hakka, owl, windmill, silver, mural painting, frog's eye, mosquitofish, unforeseen gift and packed like sardines in this cloud. Each word represents a picture or two. If you would like to take a look at what they are, feel free to make a guess by choosing a word (see above), and then I'll have the photos help to reply. Have fun!

The ways you can try to guess: (from Tara's examples)

1. Ask a question (direct): Did you fish mosquitofish

2. Use "I think" + past tense: I think you visited an aquarium where has mosquitofish

3. Use "I bet" + past tense: I bet you saw mosquitofish in the river.

4. Use "I wonder if" + past tense: I wonder if you bought mosquitofish as a gift to your pet Cupid.

  • The weather was actually not very good that day. On the way to the train station, we came cross the rainbow hanging on the sky. We were really excited while seeing the unforeseen gift, which make our trip a happy ending. ^^

  • Can you imagine how a frog looks at this world by their eyes? Perhaps this one could tell. It's really fun taking photos by this way. It presents an unique style from general one. How do you think of it?

  • Packed like sardines was happened as we visited a museum where took place grand opening few days ago before we arrived. Thanks to free ticket during this period, people from other cities did have the same purpose-visiting the museum.

  • When it comes to public transportation, taking train would be the best choice for me when travelling.

We took earlier train from our city to our destination. In general, on Sunday morning there are less people would take earlier train unless you have some certain reasons like us. This pictures was taken from the window of the carriage is like a mural painting. Everywhere is possibly a painting, that all depends on how you look at the surroundings. :)

  • The day we went to seashore was just after passing a typhoon. All clouds and ocean were like to be painted with silver. I really enjoyed it even though it was not that normal blue.

  • 2385343923?profile=original@Naifs, thanks a lot for taking part in the activity and encouragement. :D

On the way to the beach, two resident kids were fishing near a pond.

"What are you doing here?", I asked.  " There are a lot of mosquito fish in the pond. We have fished some mosquito fishes."  The little girl replied.  Even it rained a bit that time, they didn't be diminished their passion at all owing to that.

  • Great Job dear Grace! Thanks a lot! Have a wonderful time!

  • I wonder if you tried mosquito fish in a restaurant.

  • 2385338682?profile=originalOne of the Hakka's cultures is their renowned woodcarving. This owl I came across in a museum, where displayed a lot of handicrafts. It seems to say hello to everyone with its bright eyes.

  • @Anele, lol... you cracked me up. The word owl is actually separate term from the 'packed like sardines'.  Hakka is one of our Ha Chinese groups. Their have their own language called Hakka language, and their ancestors were said to live in central or south China originally, later on they emigrated to many regions worldwide due to the civil war. This board shows where they are now located.
