"Awww, what a cute kid! What would you like to be when you grow up, honey?"
Pfft. As if that "kid" would give a flying fudge about the future. Do you remember this silly question? How many grown-ups have asked you this when you were desperately trying to wiggle so that they won't tousle your hair or get your nose? Kids live in a world that grown-ups are not allowed, if you will. Even if they get lucky enough and enter that magical world; they'd be confused as, um... well, you know.
They don't get them when a kid says, "Let me introduce you to my new friend", which could be a stick, by the way. And it gets pretty awkward when they can't even see that aforementioned "friend". Sometimes trying so hard to make them be an astronaut or a surgeon or a CEO may actually backfire. Take a look at these answers. They're freakin' awesome. However, growing a beard while you're a little girl or wanting to be a mailbox or a "potatoe"? Hmm. Not gonna lie; that's worrisome.
This one has my heart, though.
Just FYI:
Generation X
the generation born after that of the baby boomers (roughly from the early 1960s to mid 1970s), often perceived to be disaffected and directionless.
Generation Y
the generation born in the 1980s and 1990s, comprising primarily the children of the baby boomers and typically perceived as increasingly familiar with digital and electronic technology.
Quick question: Are we supposed to call these kids Gen Z? I hope not!
What was your life goal when you were a little kid?

I don't remember. May be I didn't dream, may be I dreamed to be an Engineer, which I am not.
How 'bout a black widow? That's technically a bride, only better.
Very interesting blog. I think kids somehow reflect what they have seen in the environment around them.
As a kid, I used to dream being a bride! Finally I found my dream true!
:)
Thanks for the nice topic. I enjoyed!

Being a little bit manipulative, are we?
I know what you said, I just 'change' it for what I want to hear... A lil 'manipulation's trick' :D
It didn't work this time, but I won't give up!
