In this game I will start by asking a yes/no question about your country. The first person to read it will answer the question in the comment section. The trick to this game is that you CANNOT use the words "yes" OR "no" in your answer. After answering the question, write a yes/no question (not a "wh" question) using "in your country" for the next person. (In your answer don't forget to tell us what your country is.)Example:Q: Do people celebrate Mother's Day in your country?----------------A: Mother's Day is not an official day off from work in the U.S., but most people pamper their moms by buying gifts or treating them to a day of R&R.Q: Does your country have a monarchy?----------------A: We do consider Queen Elizabeth our queen, but she doesn't have any significant power in Canada.Q: Is sushi popular in your country?-----------------Language Note: This game is useful for speaking practice because it encourages learners to broaden their vocabulary and vary sentence structure when giving an answer in English.------------------Let's begin:Q: Do women in your country typically work outside of the home?(Remember, you don't answer this question because it has already been answered in the comments. Answer the question from the last person who left a comment. Make sure you are on the last page of comments before you answer and leave a new question.)
Game note: If two people are leaving a comment at the same time (as below) we get two questions. The next person can choose one (or answer both) and ask a new question.
A: To answer Aygun, I've been outside of Canada, but only to the U.S. and Mexico. I hope to travel to Spain in the near future.
Q:Do most households have at least one personal computer in your country? (nobody answered this question so I am repeating it here)
A: Women in Canada try to balance motherhood and working outside the home, however, to "keep up with the Joneses" women have to work too hard outside of the home. This makes it difficult for parents to give enough attention to their children. This is my opinion, of course!
keep up with the Jonses=to have the same material wealth as your neighbours (Jones is a common last name)
Does your country have four distinct seasons (summer, spring, winter, fall)?
Hello,
I don't know in what way you do prepare "mansaf"; but I do not think in our country Morocco we have such a meal unless you provide a complete information about it.
Tell me, Do you have folklore in your country?
Game reminder: I don't think anyone answered Marzouq. Don't forget to answer the person who commented before you. (Not my original question.) Also, please tell us which country your are from in your answer.
A: To answer Marzouq there are many forests in Canada. Unfortunately, many are threatened by the pine beetle. Forest fires are also destroying many beautiful forests as people try to live and play in areas that belong to wildlife.
To answer Flying Unicorn, some Canadians are very superstitious (touch wood, cross your fingers, etc.) while others are religious. Canada is made up of many different cultures and it is amazing that peace exists despite so many differing belief systems here.
Q: Do most households have at least one personal computer in your country?
We have quite a few rivers here. The famous one is "Bengawan Solo" river. It inspired a composer to write a song about it. The old japanese people like to sing it. As they've been to Indonesia and their ancestors once had collonialized our country. It was pretty popular there as much as it was here.
Q: Do people in your country believe in superstitions?
Women have an important role in my home country, Iran. These days, they take part in society more than ever. 75 per cent of university students are girls and they try to have an independent life.
